P.S. This would be nice to have a comparison between the other game but I prefer to keep it in the 2K forum because the "Other Baseball" forum gets no attention.

Stadiums are Too Small?
I think the stadiums are too small in this game. As a result, the speed of hits have to be toned down to a slower speed along with outfield arms as well. I think if the stadiums were boosted up in size then we could see faster players in the outfield move at realistic speeds. Outfield arms would look more like major league rockets instead of having too much arc on them. Right now the game play is slowed down as a result and it's a little off imo. Thoughts?

Re: Stadiums are Too Small?
I guess I have pretty much the opposite opinion as far as these two comments go. First, players' all have very strong arms, even with the throw slider at 0. The other thing is the gameplay is too fast overall IMO. Linedrive rockets, few if any dribblers, baserunners hitting lots of triples and inside the park HR's, etc. I don't know if the size of the park affects the latter, but my outfielders seem to have to run forever after balls hit in the gap. If anything, the outfield seems a bit large in that respect.
I'd actually like to boost everything a little faster - balls leaving the bat faster, outfielders running faster, base runners faster and arms stronger. You can speed up everything other than the balls leaving the bat so you can't really do that.Comment

Re: Stadiums are Too Small?
It's weird because during pre-game, I always think the flyovers give a great view of the stadiums and they look very good. Things do feel shrunken down once you actually start playing the game, and I'm not sure why.
I think like you guys said, the hit speed and outfielder run speed definitely are factors. My only other guess is perhaps it has something to do with keeping the framerate smooth?Currently Playing:

Re: Stadiums are Too Small?
IMO the infields are too small the depth and width of it.
It feels pinched in the infield. The ball is hit to hard and the infield animations arent responsive small enough it cuts down the possibilities of fieldingCatch Madden 15/ NBA 2k15 Footage on my Twitch Channel

Re: Stadiums are Too Small?
I think it depends on what camera angles are being used to display the field. Different shots provide different perspectives. I don't know...I go back and forth on this. Guess it's all subjective...STEELERS INDIANS CELTICS

Re: Stadiums are Too Small?
I dont think this overall size is wrong just the infield feels pinched and too small. It has no depth. The players are too big for infield or infield is just too small
Fielders are all spaced out and infield are deep (amount of dirt area behind and infront of base) & Wide

Re: Stadiums are Too Small?
Maybe it's just me, but I think the outfielders get too much of a jump on well hit balls. How can they possibly ALWAYS get the balls crushed to the warning track? I'm not talking about a ball that's skied in the air, but more of a line drive where they do their little ballet leap to magically get to the ball in time.
Similarly, well hit balls that fielders seem to ALWAYS barely manage to get to in the shallow parts of the outfield. Unless it's hit a few yards away from the infield, it feels like there's no hope of having a ball drop down for a single.
I could understand these plays being made some of the time, they're professionals after all, but EVERY time? It's a bit ridiculous, IMO.
The weird thing is, if a ball lined to a gap, it takes them years to finally get to the ball! Why is there no sprint button for the outfielders to chase a ball down?Last edited by SpeedyMikeWallace; 05-02-2011, 01:27 PM.Comment

Re: Stadiums are Too Small?
That's 100% a player ratings issue. I play using the AA players. Their contact and power ratings are quite a bit lower than the MLB players. I'd say half my hits are balls hit over the infielders and in front of the outfielders. It's to the point where it feels like an auto-hit cheat of sorts. The CPU never moves its OF in, so it has real trouble getting to the ball.Comment
