Re: MLB 2K11 Patch Available Now, Post Your Impressions Here [UPDATE: Patch Notes Add
I just saw the double play bug last night. The cpu runner was safe at first while I attempted to turn the double play only to see him take off for second and get immediately tagged out. Never saw this pre-patch nor did I have an in game freeze pre-patch but have had one already post patch.
DH fatigue is still wrong. The DH position should get a 1/2 day rest, not get tired. Managers like to rotate guys through the DH so they can rest a bit. It's what Minnesota will do with Mauer (when healthy). Many teams do this. I tried to do it with Magglio last night but he lost 3 points of energy as a DH in a nine inning game.
Injuries still seem too high. In 3.5 games I've had two pitchers get hurt with the injury slider at 1. One of them got hurt in the game with the freeze so I got him back accidentally but the slider doesn't work well. At 1/100 I shouldn't see many injuries at all.
2K needs to start using tuning files like EA does with the NHL series and NCAA football series. It's a quick way to fix minor things without the time and money constraints of a patch. This game could have really used something like that.Comment

As for injuries, I'm 10 games in, and so far I've only had 1 injury. My injury slider is at 15, so that seems good to me.
I'm having a blast with this game now that I have a franchise going. And online play is great since they fixed the lag. I played 3 games in a row last night and had to force myself to quit playing. I liked it before the patch, but now I'm loving it.Last edited by jeffy777; 05-28-2011, 12:44 PM.Comment

Re: MLB 2K11 Patch Available Now, Post Your Impressions Here [UPDATE: Patch Notes Add
I just gave the game a rent. I had the game before and was getting pretty good games on allstar. I just played a game was up 12-1 after 4 innings and shut it off. I dont know if its just because ive been playing the other game and that game is so hard or what. I really want to like this game, because of the hit variety and walks i cant seem to get in the other game. The patch seemed to smooth out the game play a ton, but its too easy now?
Overall the game seems good. The graphics still aren't great and player models and stances are off, but the gameplay seems solid. It seems like they really smoothed out the pace and fielding and everything seems to work together now. I'm not seeing those weird animations so much. Is anyone else finding it too easy though??
I'm not seeing less hr's at all. I'm killing the ball if its anywhere near the plate. I'll try legend and see how that goes.Last edited by Celtic34; 05-28-2011, 07:25 PM.Comment

Auto Fielding is not that good: My Phillies are number in Fielding Overall but number 22 in the majors team stats.
auto baserunning works fairly well, not perfect, but close.
I still make more line drive outs than the CPU by a wide margin, not as bad as before.
Overall, I am very pleased with the new patch. There are still some things that need to be fixed: using classic pitching puts a cap on how fast you can throw a two-seam fastball, 95 mph, while the CPU can throw 99. The game summary needs to be fixed.
All in all, I think the patch is a success story that needs a few rewrites.
i love auto fielding even though in the 2 games after the patch my dodgers have not even had a bobble much less a throwing error neither has the giants. i hope i get some kind of errors soon! LOL!Comment

Are there any online issues with this game? I'm thinking about picking this up soon and I'd be spending most of my time in that mode.Comment

Have you tried turning up AI power? I have it at 80 and they hit at least one or two homers against me per game, sometimes more. Seems pretty good to me.Last edited by jeffy777; 05-29-2011, 01:16 AM.Comment

I don't know. I really want to like this game. But I just saw a pitcher walk 10 in a row and the manager has not taken him out. I'm sitting here typing and it's just ball after ball lol. Oh hey the manager just took him out woo. I don't know what it is but since the patch i'm killing the cpu. The pitching is really terrible. I can hit everything. Before the patch I was getting good games on allstar. I go to legend and it's the other way around so I'm guessing this is a slider issue, but it's still out of whack seriously. This isn't normal stuff I'm seeing.
It seems like since the patch the game is much more unbalanced. The game is smoother but it's stuff like this I wasn't seeing before.Last edited by Celtic34; 06-01-2011, 03:03 PM.Comment

If you ask me, not really. People were complaining because they were getting a lot of injuries, but it was pretty true to life when it was all whittled down.
After the patch it is toned down quite a bit, so you won't have this "problem" now. Besides, there is an injury slider that can help you out.
When it comes to sliders, this game has them all.Comment

You might try messing with your sliders. If you had them set before the patch, some of the fixes they did may have thrown the balance out of whack. Just go back and balance as necessary. Heck, it takes about 5 minutes to do but it makes your $60 purchase more than worth it when you can play the game YOU want.
I'm seriousally going from beating the cpu 30-0 to losing 20-6 if i change between Allstar and Legend. There's something not right.Last edited by Celtic34; 06-01-2011, 06:18 PM.Comment
