MLB 2K My player mode best position to play besides pitcher
Hey I was just wondering what was the most fun position to play in terms of defense besides pitcher. The only one ive tried so far is shortstop and its ok for the most part but is kind of repetitive. Im about to start an outfielder soon and see how that goes but I was just wondering which position you guys think is the best in terms of defense.Tags: None -

I wouldn't recommend 1st base. You essentially repeat the same 5 defensive plays over and over and over again. I assume an outfield spot would be the most fun for fielding.Fan of....

My first one was a shortstop and it does get quite repetitive. My second is a center fielder and it is much more diverse, but when you don't make it to the ball on a long fly ball and the camera changes your controls change on the spot usually making your player start running the wrong way.Comment

I'm playing 2ed base. Its a challenge because if I'm covering a runner/2ed base on and they hit the gap between me and 1st its never an easy out. also covering 1st when then put down a bunt wasn't pretty until i got my speed/acceleration increased. I haven't touched my pitched and outfielder for a while now.Comment

Re: MLB 2K My player mode best position to play besides pitcher
ok well i think im going to stick with the center field position for now but I was just thinking pitching wouldnt be so bad if I could still hit. How hard is it to actually get good hits as a pitcher and increase your hitting skill? I really like the idea of making a throwback pitcher who can still be a hitting threat because I wouldnt be bored out of my mind on defense because I could pitch and the offensive side of the game would still be interesting if I could still be a base-stealing contact type of hitter. I also worry about getting enough skill points towards base-running so my pitcher can at least try and steal a base or 2.Comment

I'd say catcher, because you have the ability to call the game.Comment

How is a pitcher fun for defense? He cant even make it over to first on routine plays. I went with SS, which is quite fun, but put his secondary position at the hot corner. After 3 seasons, I switched over to third and let this hot new rookie take SS.Comment

I used an SS too to take over after Jeter...but trust me, it gets boring man. I played SS in last year's version too. Catcher is pretty fun man, I think I might start a new player just to play catcher from the start. SS is also too easy man, most of the time, a ball is either grounded right to you, or its a pop up.Comment

Re: MLB 2K My player mode best position to play besides pitcher
fielding is pretty boring in general so I've tried to be whatever is over the quickest. i started with a CF but the camera angels and waiting for fly balls took too long so I switched to SS. But my fielding was awful and my 70 arm strength wasn't good enough to make those long throws so I've been playing 2B now.
I will probably revert back to OF when I go to the MLB next year.. most likely RF to take Swisher's spot. Then SS when Jeter retires.Comment
