Picked up a used copy today....

Are there no PS3 players, at all? The game showed 700+ players online, but 0 across the board in the lobbies. Or am I doing something wrong?

none are ever in 360 lobbies, people just do quick match it seems, at least on 360

Yep, you have to do a ranked match from the play now screen. I rented the ps3 version to try and nobody in the lobbies but I got a quick game in by doing the ranked option.

Looks like i might have to try an online game if this is true. I would love to play a baseball game online with no lag for the first time ever.

I've enjoyed a couple games I've played, but I have to admit the cheese still exists. Played one guy who threw nothing but curveballs for the two innings I stuck with it. I adjusted, but crap like that ruins any enjoyment of the game.

Hate playing against people who go Boston and start with Wakefield and do nothing but throw knuckle balls all game, you know its coming but just cant hit the bloody thing, it ruins the enjoyment like you said.

Wakefield is the easiest thing to hit in this game. Go opposite field, and power swing everything. Its usually 4 or 5-0 after 1, and then they bring in the "big guns" ... and its too late. The best thing with those who use Wakefield usually can't pitch too well when its normal pitchers and just throw the same routine.

Ugh, I have done nothing but play online today in this game and my game keeps freezing whenever I have the lead. Was just winning in the 7th 6-0 over Boston and hit a single with Gonzalez then my game froze. Same thing happened earlier when I was throwing a shutout and got a strike out and it just froze on me.

I've never had the game freeze on me until today online. I should have a nice record of around 5-1, but I think I'm 2-3 or 1-4 due to freezing.

...and a third freeze, also on a strike out while I am pitching. Two of them have been strike outs on missed bunt attempts, the other froze on a single up the middle.

And another disconnect that doesn't count as either a W or L. I was up 11-2 in the 6th....

This is the only game I have internet problems with, or freezing issues...

I thought that at first, but I installed the game the very first time I put it in my 360, so it should be like a brand new disk.

It might be your internet connection. You might have run into a rash of guys that will quit if they are losing.

But I have not had this problem.
