Warping of the ball in the glove

Had a great game yesterday in franchise with my nats, but ended on a terrible play that gets me mad everytime i see it. Zimmerman hit a rocket too the shortstop in the 8th with one on third. I'm down 2-1. What happened though was the ball was clearly over the shortstops glove, but got warped in the glove and i was called out. I have seen this on other occasions as well, but it almost had me throw my controller at the tv..lol.

2k have to fix this next year for sure, because it cheats the gamer, even if its the CPU hitting the ball and it gets warped with my player. I love the game, but sometimes it just make u think that happened that they didnt catch this and fix it with the last patch. Please 2k developers if u see this thread, work on this for next year, it really takes away from the game.

Re: Warping of the ball in the glove

I think one has to look at these games with a perspective that's different than what we'd see and experience in real life.

Just this morning, I came across a so-called glitch video for The Show on Youtube showing a line drive going right through the 3rd baseman's glove and into LF for a single. Me, I don't see that as a glitch. I see it as the game's programming AI calculating the batter's hitting ratings versus the 3rd baseman's fielding ratings, and then determining success probabilities. And in this case, the 3rd baseman "missed" making the grab (and he had to jump for it), and ball went for a single.

The problem really IMO is that the animations and results don't always match up to the action one sees with their own eyes. The programming of these sports games is getting better each year in that regard, but they're still far from perfect. You except that and move on.
