I'm shocked how fun this game is. I love the real time roster upgrade, to bad my Rockies are the worlds Biggest Underachievers for the first half of the season...

Had no interest in buying this game at release, but found a used copy when purchasing NCAA Football. Must admit, 2k11 plays a very good game of baseball. AI problems as others have mentioned (AI relievers not being PH for, fielders holding on to the ball while runners advance home, etc.) aside, the game is worth, at the very least, a check out. Had every intent to return after a week, but the week is up tomorrow and I might just hold onto it.

If you can get the PC version, it's fantastic. It looks much better than the console, and the modding community has fixed a lot of the annoyingly bad uniforms in the game. I was even able to make it so every team has it's road alt, not just it's home alt (it may sound trivial to most, but having teams wear white pants on the road if I want them to wear a colored jersey always irked me).

i can get the xbox version for $30, so judging by this thread, that would be worth the money?
I watch baseball every now and then, mostly the highlights on ESPN SC tho
Is this a very "sim" game or is it easy to pick up and play. I'm an avid NBA 2K player, but i think those games are pretty hard for non NBA fans and non b-ball "players" to play.
              How's MLB in that aspect?

I think it's easy to pick up and play, especially with the added auto fielding and auto baserunning. I see it as worth getting because there is no other baseball game for XBOX.

I'm one of those guys that was (is) a diehard MVP Baseball fan and have been patiently waiting for EA to start making baseball games, I'm not some EA fanboy, I just have truely hated the baseball offerings by 2K, however I need some baseball in my life and since the "The Show" is not offered on the Bill Gates Box I do want to give it a try. Last year I found pitching to be incredibly hard, (or I just might be a moron) either way, has that been simplified this year?

Pitching can be very simple by using Classic with pitch meter speed set to something that works for you, and you can play with User Pitching Control or whatever it's called.

I also played MVP Baseball, one of the best baseball games I ever played along with the High Heat series.

Pitching is the same. If anything, I guess one could argue it's harder since ratings play more into location and you won't pinpoint quite as much. You can always mess with sliders to make the gesture window more forgiving too though, if you are wanting to give 2K11 a try. IMO, the pitching is the best game play aspect of this game.

I don't recall alot of what is said being in 2k10 but commentary vs the show is 100x better I think. The show has had the same commentary for at least 3 years. I do like the show but commentary is not something to knock in this game....at least thats my opinion.
