Does check swing work?

It seems like everytime I check swing it is always called a strike. I don't know if im pulling back to slow or what. Is this a bug or am I doing something wrong?

It's a bug. Really sucks.

On the plus side, I've found classic hitting to be so much better. Try it, and you may forget how annoying it is not to have check swing.

I say this as someone that was exclusive to analog stick hitting since 2K8. I had said several time I didn't see the point in classic hitting anymore. I was wrong.

I'm convinced that nobody actually check swings using classic controls and if they do, it's by accident. That is incredibly tough to pull of. You have to tap the swing button again in mid swing to check your swing with classic controls.

It's not hard to check your swing in classic. You just tap "A" twice, as if you were double-clicking on a mouse. It's broken though; never works.

As frustrating as this bug is... its at least fair in that it affects the CPU as well :P

With my SP in MyPlayer mode, its always nice when the CPU checks their swing, because I always get a strike


Whats a shame about this bug is I wonder how many gamers try checking their swing and say to themselves "Man, I never check my swing in time!" ... When really its not their fault and they're likely un-aware that check swings are bugged.... How this got past 2K's QA I will never understand... but I wont say Im surprised at seeing abhorrent bugs in a 2K baseball game.

Check swing in classic works 50-50. If you're swinging for power however it'll never work.

Its not that check swings dont work... its that the umpire always calls it a strike. Even on balls. That's the bug.

Check swings used to work, it was the just the latest patch that effed it up. It is frustrating because there are times I legitimately check swing, only for it to be called a strike. However, that's one swing in about 200 or more, so it's hard to be too upset about it.
