A question for those who know a thing or two about computers (laptops in particular)

I'm looking to get back into playing the MLB 2K games, and I was wondering, would this laptop work good on medium to high settings on MLB 2K11/MLB 2K10?

Link to the laptop I'm looking at: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...=12kyxzu0uh8r5

And also, if this does not work good with MLB 2K11, could you guys help me out with some other laptops under $1000 that could run the game at medium-high settings?

The i3 has me a little skeptical. I am running the same graphics card with an i7... an i5 would probably do fine too.

I was in the same position as you, but I ended up spending an even grand because I wanted a 17" screen.

My best suggestion is to head over to FatWallet.com and check their computer deals. They usually have good ones. I got my girl a similar system to yours with an i5 for about $650. Both our deals were from FatWallet. Added bonus.. use FW and you get cash back.. not much but still free money (I got $26 bucks back on my $997 purchase)
My claim to fame? I started the most popular thread of all time on OS:
The Photographic Side of NCCAA11. It has now become an OS staple for several games.

Can someone please tell me if either of these computers would be good for gaming on MLB 2K10/2K11?

Do you have any other requirements other than being under 1000 bucks or be able to play mlb 2k? I don't think it needs much to run but you can grab a y470 with a gt550m and i3 for 599.99 - 630. It would cost a more for a better cpu, but the cpu isn't the bottleneck so the i3 should be fine for this game. I'm currently on my ipod so I can't post links to some good cheap laptops so I'll edit this post later today.

The first link from Acer should be able to run the game just fine on high. The other one may have problems, but will probably run it on low/medium

The game will run fine on an i3. I'm still on a core 2 duo and 2K11 runs great with all the graphics maxed out at 1080p. The video card is more important, and my ATI 5850 does the job well.
