I will post it here also. There WILL BE a MLB 2K12 and no NHL 2k12.

I wish their was a hockey game in 2012 from 2K as I am not much of a hockey fan, but my home team the Lightning have pushed me more and more to be a hockey fan.

I live in a suburb of Tampa and attend around 10 Lightning games a year...you from around here?

Born and raised in Tampa. 34 years old so been here 34 years, LOL.

I am going to go to some games this year. I went to 1 last year and had a great time. I love going to Rays baseball, BUT I do not like the location of the stadium. There is 3 different reasons why they don't draw and that is location, didn't try and beef up the roster in their 2008 run, and they complain worse than a grouchy wife. I love the team but how can you complain so darn much. Not like they are broke. They act like they won't eat if they pay the players. Don't get me started with the Bucs. I love what they are doing and building like they did once before but there are good players they can sign and not just go through the draft. I know they want to see how these players pan out before spending money on other players, but 10 million or so won't hurt their pockets. I really hate that they didn't spend the money to get the game sold out so everyone can see the tribute to Lee Roy Selmon. I was going to go to a game this year and no way will I pay my money to them and don't think I will be going for a few years to be honest.

Very cool! We're in Wesley Chapel, so to get to Rays games means a trip through Tampa traffic and then south to St. Pete traffic. Beautiful drive while going over the bay, but a pain when a wreck occurs on the bridge. I get to around 2 Rays games, but won't make that drive. I'm 39 and have lived here for 8 years... if you want to hook up sometime let me know - send me a PM.

[quote=lbjcavsx23;2042807478]I understand it's not even close to being better than MLB The Show but it's still a pretty damn good game, in my opinion it's a top 5 sports game on the 360 right now behind NBA 2k, FIFA, and NHL.

I'm also very excited for MLB 2K12.[/quo

Honestly i have owned the SHOW every year since the show 09 and i was reading alot about mlb 2k11 and watching videos on youtube. I was starting to get tired of playing mlb 11 the show due to the computer teams doing some very unsettling trades and free agent signing even before the allstar break. So i went ahead and decided to go down to walmart a few days ago and buy MLB 2k11 and i am so glad i did. To me this game is so much better than the show. Yeah it may not have the greatest graphics but everything else makes up for it. The GAMEPLAY is awesome, The FEEL of the game is smooth and gets exciting, the COMMENTARY is the best, i love being able to look at and having all those alltime records to look at and try to break cuz having alltime records is a big part of baseball and even having them for each team is incredible, the ROSTERS are even better then the SHOW, everything in your FRANCHISE mode is better( from menus to sponsors like mlb.tv) you even have the option to look at the top 100 prospects going into the season. I LOVE this game and i will be RENTING the show and 2k baseball next year cuz hopefully 2k will be better.

I've never played the show, but to me this game is great. I play it more then Ncaa and I love football. I wish there was an owner mode though...I love that kind of stuff.

MLB 2K11 is probably 2K's first next-gen baseball game that is more "not broken" than broken, that's the one reason I even bought it. But looking back on this series for example: 2K developed a pitcher/hitter interface 3-4 years ago that is vastly superior to anything that's ever been seen in a baseball video game before or since. The free-ball physics and hit variety in their zone hitting engine, combined with their step-influence feature, was an unbelievable bit of game programming. But nobody played the game because it was broken. Plus the hitting was so realistic, it was actually too tough for today's young gaming crowd. The developers even stated last year they simplied the hitting in 2K11 (which seriously hurts the game) to appeal to "pick-up-and-play gamers," their words.
Couldnt agree with you more on the fact that 2K releases games that are unfinished and semi-broken.
It seems as though they can't hold on to a development team and the game in turn suffers.
2K7 was a beautiful game worthy of next gen status, that is until you played it for more than a few days and realized "this game is broken".
Then although the next few years 2K took a huge hit in the "everything" department; graphics, gameplay, AI, etc., they were trying out new things.
Which is great but sucks for us, the consumers, who dish out $60 a game to be testers really, until they get enough feedback on how their game is doing.

2K10 was definitely a breath of fresh air finally but again after a few days of playing it, you realized again, this game is broken.
2K11 did play a tad better but still lacked that something to keep me going.
I think they need to really tighten up their gameplay and really really iron out the really significant bugs, lets face it every game has its share of bugs but this one seemed to have the type that made it almost impossible to play,
and I know a lot of people dont really care for this too much but I think the graphics need to be tightened up as well. I think the game should look as good as it plays. The potential is most definitely there.
I love the way players move in the game but, it seems as though, especially when playing through HD tvs nowadays, like im playing a PS2 game.
Lets hope for a great videogame baseball season in 2012.

Why do you keep saying this other then to troll? Pretty certain there is a MLB 2K12 coming out. In fact there better be. They had a strong foundation in 2k11 to build upon for next year.

Game summary is why it doesn't get more love from me. I can't stand looking at game summary and seeing zeroes where real statistics should be.

Re: Why doesn't does this game get more love?

You can have the greatest game play in the world but if you pile a bunch of dog crap on top of it and call it a day, then not many people are going to buy it.

What you are saying, I agree with. Gameplay >> Graphics, but at the end of the day, players now a days want the full package. The Show's gameplay is good enough and their attention to the details is what draws people in. I'm not saying that it is the greatest game ever to be played in the history of sports, but it works.

I think the pitching system needs to be overhauled and the hitting physics can be very unrealistic at times.

2k is VASTLY ahead of The Show in the pitching department. The hitting still needs work, and the bugs can make 2k11 sometimes unplayable. Regardless of whether you think graphics are important, the image is what represents the product. If you have a bunch of player models that look like crap, awkward throwing and hitting animations, people are going to be turned off.

There's a time where you need to stick with something that works and polish it instead of always trying to advance and progress. Like the old saying goes, if it ain't broke, don't fix it. That's the model that Show follows and why they have been so successful.

Once 2k figures this out, this game has the potential to be WAY better than The Show.

The question "Why doesn't this game get more love?" needs to be addressed to 2k. This is a tremendous game @ it's core. But the support that followed was poor. If they could've released a patch to fix injuries, double plays (where the CPU runner would take off @ first), and fatigue issues, this game would have been close to flawless IMO. But, alas, nothing. And I have not heard of anything either. I stopped caring after a while, so there may have been something but I never knew about it.

It's better than FIFA, the elitist AI of FIFA makes the game completely unenjoyable to play. MLB2K games are always fun to play and that's what it's all about!

I just wish they would get the damn custom settings right for camera angles! Whenever I start a new game or return to a season they automatically return to default despite me saving them the way I wanted... the whole thing puts me off!
