Pitch Out button?

I cannot for the life of me get the pitch out to work. I'm playing on the pc version and using an xbox controller. I'm not using total control pitching, just hit x,a,y,b, etc for the pitch type. The handbook i found says press X, but that's also a button for a pitch. Any help? Thank you.

Choose a pitch type, and THEN press X when you're choosing the location.

Thanks, but the way it's setup for me I hold the selected pitch button for power. For instance, Y is a fastball, I select where i want for location and then hold Y until the power meter is full and release at which point the pitch is thrown.

Gotcha. Sorry I'm not sure how to do it then. Wouldn't surprise me if it wasn't possible, as there seems to be a number of things people using one control setting can do while others can't. Hopefully you figure it out, if possible.

It used to be clicking in one of the sticks. But it is a sticky (pardon the pun) situation as one stick does a pitchout and the other does an intentional walk. That was in the older versions, since I purchased 2k11 I just throw fastballs high and away for a pitchout, doesn't really seem any slower.I wish that slide step was in the game. It was in All Star Baseball 2001 and I thought that was great. I'd love to 2k12 have a slide step for pitchers.
