2k11 looked beautifull on the PC version.
IMO, in some aspects was better looking than the other baseball title.
never played 2k7 so I wouldnt know, but its hard for me to imagine that it would look better than 2k11.
the PC version was oh so sweet. the did a fantastic job with the graphics. I remember playing the game in the early spring and it just made me miss summer.
I played it last week and it made me feel teh same way.
the games lighting et, could be a good treatment for folks with SAD.

The game basically is the same across all platforms. The only differences in the PC version is resolution and anti aliasing. There's no style or detail differences. I've played it. In my opinion, the graphics are not up to today's standards.

Look at screenshots of MLB 2K7 for the 360. It looked awesome.

It had way more detail than MLB 2K11 has. The uniforms, the fields, the player's faces - everything was represented better.

I know everyone has their own opinion on 2K7 and I think it had the best graphics; player movement, lighting, colors, etc., in any baseball game so far, yes even sonys beautiful game, but the game play was awful.
Ive said it before, IMO, the recent games in the 2K series although much improved still cannot compare graphically to 2K7. Gameplay is much much much more improved but still looks last gen to me.
When I play 2K11 it looks like a title for the ps2.
I cannot see a reason why they cant make a great playing game with amazing visuals on these systems.

Holy hyperbole Batman! Some of you really need to do some PC gaming. MLB 2K11 looks absolutely beautiful on my laptop.

Now, looking at those 2K7 screens on page 2 of this thread, IMO the game does not in fact look better than 2K11. The player models don't look as good, the baggy unis look absolutely ridiiculous -- like players are wearing parachutes or something -- and the crowd in the stands looks laughably pathetic. If we're going to have a comparitive discussion about looks, then let's have a thorough discussion about ALL the various visual aspects.

Bottomline, if Kush had to add ridiculous cardboard cutouts in the stands in order to improve the grass visuals or whatever, then there's your answer to the OP's question: some aspects of MLB 2K7 may have looked better simply because Kush cut corners elsewhere. And in the process they created an incredibly unbalanced and, because of that, unappealing overall visual experience. Which is different than 2K11. Visually, 2K11 is very balanced and overall a very pleasant game to look at. Me, I'd take the latter over the former any day.

Hard to imagine anyone arguing with you there. 2K baseball has been the ugly second cousin of available baseball games going on several years now. But is that what this thread is about? Plus this discussion has nothing to do with the MVP series. We're comparing graphics, and 2K11 certainly wins hands down in that dept. compared to MVP and any other last-gen game.

I just mentioned the other games because one of them is up to par for the year we live in. That's the only thing to compare it to, so it naturally comes up a lot on these forums.

Staying on topic, the only thing I really have to say is that Kush had a better team of graphic developers. That's why 2K7 looks better than 2K9 - 2K11. It's either that or they put more effort into the game. Either way, it is what it is.

The player models, stadiums, and lighting haven't improved from 2K9 to 2K11. It honestly seems like the 2K developers abandoned this game. Have you seen their forums lately ? It's embarassing !

I would not get my hopes up for 2K12. I got my hopes up for 2K10 and 2K11 and I stopped playing both games after about 2 weeks.

It honestly seems like the 2K developers abandoned this game.

They obviously didn't abandon the series, otherwise 2K11 wouldn't be the best overall game of the series since next-gen. But I do think your point is valid in that 2K appears to be putting a bare minimum of money and effort into improving the game and re-establishing the consumer interest in it that was lost during the Kush regime. It does feel like they're passing time, waiting around for the MLB license to expire, after which I wouldn't be surprised to see them pull the plug on the series the way they did with NHL 2K.

Kush totally set this series back a couple of years when they took over the series.

The best developer this series ever had was Blue Shift.

2k7 was nothing more than eye candy which was a cover-up for 2k6 which was a disaster.

2k7 gameplay was not great. The lighting was over-done. To the point that @ times bats looked like lightsabers.

2k11 was a much better game in all areas

Eh, it's all opinion. I think 2K7 is a better looking and playing game than 2K9 - 2K11. That's my opinion and I can support my opinion with valid reasons, but there really is no point. I'm not trying to convince anyone.
