MLB 2K12 Announcement From Justin Verlander is...

Perfect Game Challenge is back MLB Opening Day. But it's different than ever before. Top 8 perfect game face off for 1 million.

That means you don't have to race out and throw one first and it will be an easier submission process. More info coming very soon...

Should make winning $1 Million a more amazing, life changing experience than ever before.

Even the first post seemed sarcastic and shameful.

I'm expecting stuff by next week, but I hope they realize that this $1 million thing isn't that appealing to the masses. It sounds good on paper, but once you find out what you have to do for it (now in tourney fashion), it's just a major turn-off.

I really am hoping for some awesome goods this year!

lol...Ronnie and the fine folks of the 2K marketing department doing their thing.

I literally did laugh out loud at Ronnie's "more amazing, life changing experience" comment and how much he actually thinks these things are the huge announcements for people.

So this is our first glimpse into 2K12? No screens, no videos, no features list, just "Buy our game and win a million dollars"? My parents used the same psychology and strategy on me back in the '60s to get me to clean my room on Saturdays -- paid me a dime and called it my allowance.

Again this just goes to show that they don't care about us the fans of the game and they have no idea how to properly run a company or how to properly promote said game.

I just went to the 2k site and emailed their customer service site and let them know how we all feel, not that it will go any further than that but at least i got my voice heard.. oh ad i reminded them about here and us.. the fans..

Hopefully this will start a fire under someone in this comany or even on the team that works on this game... god knows we need something...

Well basically 2k is going in with the attitude that this is their last year of exclusivity and it has been a money losing enterprise overall. Makes me think we shouldn't expect that they put that much into this year's game.

As for next year, who knows but maybe the series will go the way of 2k hockey.

Last year there was some info that came out middle of January and then some information came out over the next few weeks...videos, screenshots etc. So perhaps we'll get something this week?

The info will come out when it comes out. 2K does this every year and won't likely change. Is it right? No. But I seriously would be shocked if they didn't put out another product next year.

More info on the perfect game contest. It is much better this year as you don't have to record yourself and there is an option for it. The top 8 perfect game scores (it's based on difficulty, who you used, who you played against, etc) get to go to an 8 man tournament. It's cool but I don't think 2K gets enough bang for their million dollars with this contest. They must feel otherwise.

I wonder why they had to do perfect game records the first time, anyway. If they programmed it correctly, you wouldn't have to prove a thing.

I'm glad they're doing that, though. That means you just have to play the game, and if you happen to land a perfect game, so be it.
