Re: MLB 2K12 Preview (ESPN The Gamer)

I hope they fix the AI when it comes too strategic situation. Sometimes the pitcher would be at bat in late innings and there team was behind. Also when stealing bases, and a player was on third and first, when the player on first try too steal the base, the catcher would throw too third instead of second. defensive subs needs to be more explained and graphically shown, instead of just mentioned slightly in commentary. Injuries needs too be fully shown and talked about in the process. maybe a player being helped off the field...etc. Looking forward too this game and can't wait for more info.

I loved the 2K11 gameplay, so this sounds like it's just making it sweeter. That's great, but what I really want to hear is how they've fixed all the little bugs in the game--especially in Franchise mode. Check swings, fatigue, DL functionality, lack of top tier FAs, etc. have all been issues the last two years.

Hell, they could put out 2K11 (with roster updates, of course) with all those little things fixed and have a darn near perfect game.

liked what I read, only negative I took from all that is graphics still look outdated assuming those are 2K12 graphics. But even reading this its wait and see, gotta get my hands on the game first.
It’s easier to do the right thing, than to explain why you didn’t.

love the yankee stadium scoreboard display, doesnt have that generic black border!
maybe all of em got work.

wait, over 80 hours of added commentary!!!?????????!!

even more focus on the pitcher/batter battle [which is huge in a video baseball game].

Nice preview. 80 more hours of commentary, wow thats cool. I like the fact that we will have to plan our strategy based on even more information when pitching this year. Last year was the first time I played this series and the pitching was really cool, so these are the things I want to hear. Its gonna be tough going back across the street if you catch my drift.

MLB 2K12 is looking nice. Gonna have to impress me even more for me to go out of my way and purchase a 2K baseball game for the first time in 3 years.

I'm and MLB The Show guy but I have to say, 2k baseball has the best commentary out there and to hear that it's getting even better is crazy. These previews seem really promising. I really hope 2k can turn this series around. It would be awesome to have two great baseball games out there each year.

We have a couple threads running on this, but I'm excited about what I'm seeing.

one thing not mentioned here that I'm VERY happy to hear: animations for the outfielders!!!! This is HUGE because those animations are key to baserunning and outfielder throwing strength sliders.

Maybe this is the year they finally nail this game?? I'm hopeful....

I'm hoping the upgrades in graphics is huge. Looking at that Verlander pic reminds me of that. It looks like a 2D cutout; needs better lighting, shadows, shading something! Day games looked great last year but as soon as the sun went down, bleh!

Graphics will never be a strong point of this title. Here's hoping the tweaks spoken about bring a little life to game.

I agree, it's missing some "depth" caused by the bland lighting... which I hope is caused primarily by the overcast shadows.

Nevertheless, this was the exact problem for night games as well. I wonder if they worked on what needed to be worked on to take away the "flat" look that's given off when there isn't proper lighting applied to the players.

Wow.. ALL this time and they have yet to improve big time on at least some aspects of the graphics. Verlander looks awful there, it looks like this is some animated cartoon game. The stadium looks flat and, as you can see in the upper deck, the fans are flat.. It's been like that in MLB 2k since 2009. Disappointing.

you guys do realize the verlander pic is from 2k11?

the price pic is only from 2k12..
