I forgot how solid 2k11 was (pc)

Looking to get a baseball fix in, and with the wife and kid dominating the TV I had a tough time getting in the Show 09 to progress through a franchise significantly. So I fired up 2k11 on my computer and I forgot how mildly pleasant this game actually is. Without getting into a 2k11 vs the Show because we all know who wins, it's pretty nice taking at bats and not sweating bullets over whether or not I move the cursor in the right area, or dealing with the general impossibilities of drawing BBs on the Show.

heh, had the exact same experience a couple nights ago. Fun game. Problem with my PC version is I can never get past the first inning. A few ABs and the game crashes, every time.

Yikes, I've yet to have a crash. I love this game. Have been playing off and on - now I don't see myself stopping .

There's just something about 2k baseball that has me comming back. Although I have a PS3, the commentary is perhaps the best in all sport games. Just love it. If they fix many of the bugs, 2k12 will be a keeper for sure.

So is it solid... or mildly pleasant? I couldn't get past the lack of separate controls for offense/defense.

It's a solid game. Not great by any means, but they do have deep statistical tracking (which I love), great commentary, and even the gameplay isn't as bad as people say. More grounders, better baserunning annimation, etc. and it should be a solid offering.

what ya mean daflyboys? There are separate control mapping screens for batting/pitching/baserunning/defense. If you can find it cheap, I would recommend picking it up.

As for the game crashing, quite a few nvidia users reported having this problem, especially people with the gtx 460. Nothing ever came out of it, but the last set of drivers seem to help, or it did for me.

I've been playing the 2009 version of the other game and came back to my pc version of 2k11 for a little while before the 2012 games come out.

I find the controls are extremely user friendly.

BTW I have a nvidia gt 425M, far from the high end, but my game rarely crashes.

Thanks for the info. I have the 445, so it sounds like that's the issue. I don't do updates to graphics cards. Last time I did it screwed up my PC for days, and I think I ended up reformatting. Plus every other game on my PC runs perfectly, so it's just not worth it.

Updating the graphics driver shouldn't screw your computer up.. There maybe something wrong with your pc...

It shouldn't, but it is a fact that updating things like the graphics card can and sometimes does bung things up. I just don't take the chance anymore unless it's something I absolutely can't live without. Even have Windows updates shut off on my PC.

Plus PC mods were released that updated all stadiums with real ads, which improved the look of the stadiums 200%. Not to mention all the uni and equipment mods and upgrades, which also looked fantastic.
