One thing I hope they improve in Franchise Mode

I hope they improve trading as a whole.

Like, nobody should be completely untouchable. If I'm offering Joey Votto, Brandon Phillips, and Jay Bruce for Matt Cain, the Giants would be idiotic to say no to that in real life, but in the game won't even consider it.

You should also be able to trade more than 3 people per trade.

(I obviously don't really want to do that, but it was just a test)

Whats a fair trade for Soriano?
Brian Kelly will have ND back this year.

Arizona State will bounce back this year too.

The Cubs will end the streak next year

When I sim in 2k11 everyone is fair game it seems. I thought they had trading done kind of right (as far as fun goes), it seems like there was one blockbuster a year like Braun and stuff to the Rays for Longoria and stuff. Sure, there were no unloading the farm system for 1 superstar, but games have almost never gotten that one right.

Idk about that...if I'm the GM I don't pull the trigger on that one. That hot dog is pretty valuable to my team and I can rebuild my lunch around that hot dog. What if I switch it to a used ketchup packet? That's still fair market value

No deal...the advanced metrics tell me that the hot dog will improve my FER (fullness efficency rating: a metric used to measure how filling a meal is) for lunch. Versus Soriano who actually lowers my FER by ten-fold. I'm a Bill James disciple and I can't sacrifice FER.

See, there's your mistake. You're relying on FER, which we all know, while an improved metric over the old school THL (Total Hunger Loss), is a biased measurement on its own. The bun is accounting for a large portion of that FER, which is why I believe FIF (Food Independent Fullness) is a better measurement in this scenario, since the bun clearly isn't a part of the deal (that would be just foolish).

That said, while the hot dog does look less desirable using the FIF metric compared to FER, it still obviously scores higher than Soriano. So yeah, long story short, only a fool would do that deal!

I literally laughed so hard at this I started crying, mainly because I forgot about FIF...what kind of metric junkie am I?

what about the bag of baseballs thats important. your screwing your self. he doesnt come close to the bag of baseballs. your offering to little. remember the baseball can roll down the hill and someone can swing at it. or if at bat the bag can fly up in the wind and hit the baseball then blow over to first base and get on base. soriono cant do that.

Well see, the thing about the bag of baseballs is that this particular bag is old and unfortunately, I can't bring it a championship here before it's career ends...so I've decided to do the next best thing and try to spin it in a 3 team deal which pretty much accounts to this:

Cubs get: Used Ketchup Packet, $10,000 which was given to me by Greg Williams of the Rams (he mentioned something about paying a fee I was owed of some sort, something about how my team injured a star player last season?), and Billy Crystal

Yankees get: Bag of Baseballs, $5 million of Soriano's contract, food item to be named later

A's get: Soriano, Hot Dogs, and Sammy Sosa's corked bats (they needed some pop)

I found trading way too easy in 2K11. I could make moves that would never happen. I was giving relievers and nobody prospects and getting stars back. It effectively made the farm system pointless because you could just trade them away for young but proven stars already in the MLB. If I needed more young stars after a half decade or so, I could just trade more nobody prospects. I remember actually keeping tabs on a few and they ended up doing nothing for the teams I sent them too. One guy totally disappeared and retired at like 25.
