I am happy to answer questions, but can't get into specific ratings or anything like that because I am at work. I did, however, play about 6 or 7 games yesterday on 360, so I am very familiar with gameplay. Ask away.

I am at work too and can't wait for tomorrow to pick up the game... so i thought "to pass the day, I will be on OS asking questions and getting ready"

So here I go: how does the CPU look in terms of plate discipline and patience at the plate?

In the demo the CPU batters swing at every strike, they rarely work the count or get into deep counts, often swinging at the first pitch.
If the count is 3-0 and I throw a strike down the middle, there goes the swing (80% of the time).

Is it any different in the full game?

I noticed the CPU taking strike three on a couple of occasions. They definitely take strikes, but moreso once you get deep into the count. In other words, if you get to 2-2, they seem to be trying to get the count full or draw a walk (unless you throw a fat pitch, then they will take a hack). But, if you can drop in a breaking pitch with two strikes (very difficult to do this year with the new breaking ball physics), then you can catch them looking.

I actually was going to post this in the impressions thread, but I pitched a game with Felix Hernandez against the Marlins. I was perfect for 4.2 innings, and was catching guys looking on my change-up like crazy. Then, all of a sudden, they started looking for it and things fell apart quickly. I gave up 3 runs in the 6th and ended up falling behind 3-1 and ultimately lost 3-2.

I want to stress the importantce of 'affect of pitcher confidence' slider. If you leave it on the default 50, then not only will every little rally be a difficult jam to get out of, but you will also beat the crap out of pitchers if you can put together 3-4 hits in a row. I had a 9-run 2 out rally off of the Angels last night with the Yankees, after not doing anything for the first 3-4 innings. I ended up winning 13-9, after being down 7-1 in the 4th.

Thanks to for reading, and especially to anyone who answers any of the following:

1) Pitching - I read a rumor that once you warm up a bullpen reliever and sit him down, you can't warm him back up or use him in the game. True, false?

2) Pitching - Any chance it's harder to throw strikes this year? Inaccurate pitches for me in years past tended to go down the middle, making me give up too many singles and too few walks.

3) Franchise - Top 5 avgs, HRs, and ERAs of a simmed season would be great, but I understand if it's too much of an undertaking.

4) Franchise - Anything seem off / broken? Stuff like fatigue glitches, injured people who can't get off the DL, etc.

5) Difficulty - Can you easily change difficulty between categories (hitting, fielding, pitching, running), or is it change-one-change-all? Last year I would have liked pro pitching with all star hitting, but every time I turned something to all-star, EVERY category went to all-star. Fixable by writing down sliders for every # and inputting it on "custom," I know, but I found that unnecessarily complicated.

To answer at least part of your answer, I did warm up some relievers, sit them down, and then bring them in the game.

However, when playing an exhibition game (non franchise), all of your starting pitchers that you did not select to start the game, can throw a maximum of 9-15 pitches in their pitch counts. They do this to keep people from using Halladay and then Lee out of the bullpen, that type of thing. I think it's great.

One thing I did find to be 'broken' has been broken for years... the problem with free agency. I simmed through a couple of seasons and there are just never more than one type A free agent or so, if that. I know there are supposed to be a ton of big free agents in 2013, so I wanted to see who I could get, but all of the guys who were available were low high 70's players at best. I found this to be a franchise killer for me, anyway.

That's great to hear! I hated playing my bro-in-law and he'd always want to put his starts in likes the game 7 of the WS. We had to make a house rule for that.

What's wrong with having no 70's or highers in FA? Isn't that a good thing? I'd rather have them still in the game then sitting in FA unsigned because they're getting older.

Big presentation franchise guy. Nba2k really boosted up there playoff and championship atmosphere. So has mlb2k done anything noticeably different in with playoff atmosphere and ws celebration? Thanks in advance

I didn't notice much difference, but I did notice that the crowd is louder and more robust in general this year.
