How my setup works, may be different for you:
    -Right-click on the desktop screen
    -Choose NVIDIA Control Panel
-In left panel, select Manage 3D Settings (should default to that)
-In right box, there are two tabs: Global Settings and Program Settings; choose Program Settings
-Click Add, then search for the MLB 2K12 .exe game launcher (in main game folder; already told you where to find that)
-Once the .exe is added to the list, you can customize video card settings for that one game
-Check the CUDA-GPUs setting; use the dropdown tab to make sure the box listing your video card is checked (means the card is active and working for that game)

When customizing the video card for MLB 2K12, I suggest you begin by shutting off all filtering and aliasing options. Play the game with the minimum settings to see how it runs/looks. Then try turning on individual settings one by one, checking to see if/how each new setting improves performance/appearance. It will take a while, but you should eventually come up with an acceptable balance of settings that both looks okay and allows you to play the game without too much slowdown.

Sounds good. See, I have the game for 360 already but I saw a couple PC videos with the mods, and I just couldn't resist this little project.

Well if you like soccer games, the PC can't be beat. I mothballed my Xbox 360 two years ago and bought a gaming PC. With all the mods, tools and gameplay editing options available for FIFA, PES and MLB 2K, it's the only way to go if you're a serious simulation gamer, and/or if you appreciate an enhanced graphics experience.

Yeah, not too big into soccer, but the graphics is my deal. Is it worth it to even put a better graphics card into a laptop, or is there a better cheaper route worth taking?

Can't switch cards in most laptops. FYI, I find Dell has the best value selection of laptops with good cards and screen resolution options. Don't have to buy their gaming-specifc laptops either, plenty of really good mid-priced laptops that will serve the purpose nicely.

Ha. Shows how seriously little I know about PC gaming and PC's in general. My wife's is an HP, I'll see if I can't find the model here in a sec.

Looking at your specs, I'd say the main problem is the processor anyway, and not the graphics card.

Any way in making that better, without getting a whole new PC or laptop?

Would something like this be good enough to run this game, without having to buy anything else?

That's a desktop? I'd try to get better graphics card.

Check this link, the 620 is listed at the bottom. Doesn't mean it wouldn't run the game but for a a few more dollars you could get a better one.

I have an nvidia GeForce GT425M and it runs the game well.

I don't know much about video cards, but I bet if something with 425 can run the game, then something with 620 can also run it.

See, I want to do more than just run it. I already have the game for 360. Do you use max settings, and run the graphical mods?

How do you guys even get MLB2K12 to run on the PC? I just downloaded it and it freezes on the title screen. I see this change the date of your computer work around that apparently no longer works. Any ideas?

I changed my system date to April 1 2012, and it worked.
