Re: PS3 Patch is out?
I wanna say that it has improved but let me finish this game to get a bigger sample size. One thing I did notice was that the pitcher's stamina doesn't reset to full stamina if you do an in-game save and come back to it.Comment

Re: PS3 Patch is out?
Awesome news! I am currently downloading it, will keep you updated.
EDIT: just played 4 innings of Marlins-Rays, which was the last game I played before installing the patch...
Wow! the stuttering is gone on balls in in play, making the game as smooth as butter. fielding now is easy and actually fun!
Nothing has changed on foul balls though, but that was as expected...Last edited by Beetlebum; 03-07-2012, 11:59 PM.Comment

Re: PS3 Patch is out?
There is still some stuttering, though it seems to be improved. It's not annoying me. Could be wishful thinking though. Also, regarding the pitcher stamina....I resumed my game and my pitcher's energy was at 75. I checked a few innings later and it's at 88. Huh? Is there some kind of dynamic pitching performance that I am not aware of? I haven't played 2k baseball since 2k10Comment

Re: PS3 Patch is out?
Ok so, since I have nothing to do at work () I will share my thoughts on the PS3 patch.
After it was released last night, I played 4 games: Rangers@Comerica Park, Indians@Rogers Centre, Marlins@Tropicana Field and Twins@Angels stadium.
The reason why I wrote the home ballpark instead of the home team is that from what I found out the stuttering depends on the ballpark...
I think we had 3 different types of framerate loss before the patch:
1. during foul balls
2. when the catcher's mitt makes contact with the ball (and the pitch result is displayed)
3. during balls in play (especially groundballs)
1. The first one seems to be a problem on both consoles even after installing the patch, it's an issue of this year's game and I think we should set our minds at rest.
2. The second one was the one that was annoying me the most, as it was affecting the best part of the game (the battle pitcher-hitter), especially in clutch moments like runners in scoring position etc... well now it is completely gone, the framerate in this situation is great and the game extremely smooth.
3. The third one was affecting fielding, and in this case I noticed that after patch there are differences between the ballpark.
I played Blue Jays-Indians and the game was amazingly smooth, a pleasure for the eyes. Same for Miami-TB at Tropicana Field.
When playing at comerica park, though, I still had some serious stuttering when fielding grounders, and, even though the game was better than pre-patch, I could see the difference compared to the two games mentioned above.
Same thing for Angels stadium, less stutteirng than Comerica but more than Rogers centre.
For all the games I used Tomba's cameras.
The patch definitely enhances the gaming experience but like I said it doesnt fix ALL the stuttering.Comment
