    Re: Franchise Trade Talk

I don't know if you're still looking for a 2nd baseman, but given what you seem to be looking for, I would suggest perhaps Ben Zobrist. He's a solid defender and can play multiple positions very well (2nd, SS, and OF). Additionally, he's got some speed (above an 80, I believe) AND he's relatively cheap. In reality, I don't think the Rays would ever part ways with Zobrist, but in the game I think if you lessened their payroll burden, they'd be appreciative.

I had a couple of unrealistic trades that I found through the trade finder.

      Shane Robinson for Michael Taylor.

      And

      Jake Westbrook for Luis Marte

      Trade logic is ridiculous haha

definitely looking for a realistic trade, I'm a big sim guy. I should of stated that, but I guess I assumed people in this thread are pretty much all sim as well. Well you know what they say about people who assume lol

            Re: Franchise Trade Talk

I am playing as the Rangers in my first ever franchise. I traded our entire pitching staff and 6 of our 9 hitters in the line up before the season. we're pretty stacked. But, in my like last month of my franchise, first season, my LF (beltre maybe) got injured. We still won the ALCS, but after we lost the WS, i checked who retired, and he did. So i picked up this 4th year 75 or so overall guy named chris heisey. He had 4* potential. And that season he hit .366 with 38 hr and 140 rbi's. What a beast. Hamilton hit 56 though, so er... haha! Btw, i had aroldis chapman, and he only had 2 pitches. I made him a starter and gave him a change-up and a curve, and made them moderatly okay pitches. He was undefeated 2 years in a row, throwing up 25-0 then 21-0. beastly?

On the topic of Mike Trout, I personally think that he is untradeable, but during my Mets franchise I wasn't sure how the trading worked and thought it was like madden where you could set up the trade and you could send the trade and if the other team liked it, you would be given the option to go through with it or not so I was just checking how I could possibly get Mike Trout and I ended up sending the trade of one of my best prospect pitchers (Matt Harvey i think, 4 stars), one of my best hitting prospects (4 or 5 stars) and Andres Torres and i sent that trade unknowingly it would go through and not ask me if i really wanted to make that trade, and with auto save on i couldnt do anything about it. I felt really bad that i just cheated the cpu and didn't even mean it lol but the pitcher that i think was Matt Harvey was put into their starting rotation right away and had a pretty good season if i remember correctly

I had also made one other trade with the Twins though, I can't remember who i traded but it was definitely a pretty high rated prospect of mine but i got Francisco Liriano to help as a starter and he was amazing for me. I actually did better with Johan Santana than Liriano but Liriano actually won the Cy Young award for the NL. I thought that was the best and fairest trade I have done in this game to date.

In my new White Sox season i started i traded for Francisco Liriano. I didn't have to give up much either. I traded the Twins Eduardo Escobar, and Minor League pitched Jhan Marinez. I thought Liriano would be a great pickup for me. So far he has. First start went 6 innings no runs and only 2 hits. Pretty happy with that trade so far.

Very optimistic that Seattle will win the cup in 2014, but you never know, especially when the season starts bumping.

                      Re: Franchise Trade Talk

I recently made a franchise just to test the trade logic. My major league roster with the Astros, who have no trade pieces, is

                      C: Buster Posey
                      1B: Eric Hosmer
                      2B: Jason Kipnis
                      SS: Dee Gordon
                      3B: Brett Lawrie
                      LF: Jason Heyward
                      CF: Josh Reddick
                      RF: Justin Upton
                      RES: Mike Olt
                      RES: Wilin Rosario
                      RES: Steve Lombardozzi
                      RES: Jordany Valdespin
                      RES: Starling Marte

                      SP: Madison Bumgarner
                      SP: Neftali Feliz
                      SP: Lance Lynn
                      SP: Tommy Hanson
                      SP: Matt Moore
                      MR: Ryan Cook
                      MR: Addison Reed
                      MR: Robbie Ross
                      LR: Walter Fisher
                      LR: Trevor Baur
                      SU: Aroldis Chapman
                      CL: Craig Kimbrel

My farm system is now Gose, Grandal, and scrubs, but it is ridiculous how good and young the major league team is. I also still have the first pick in the draft to bolster my farm system. I think this proves at least to a good amount that trade logic is vastly flawed. I intentionally used glitches like changing reelivers to starters and trading them, but that was by design to establish the most valuable team possible. I even managed to stay under my 35 million dollar cap. Every starting position player has 5 star potential, making this team rebuilt in one year enough to make a run at the world series.
