How do you feel about more pitch info?

When the CPU brings in a RP, or even at the beginning with a SP, unless you went in to edit the opposing team's pitchers to see velocity, you don't know what speeds they throw at. Now I don't know for sure, but I guess major league batters know what speeds pitchers throw before facing them. I assume each team has a book on players and includes what they throw, etc.

All I get to see in the game is what type of pitches they throw, nothing about velocity. I would like to know their velocity as well as types. If this is too much to do in the game, then having it on the players cards would work for me. Having it in the game would make it easier, but I'd settle for it being on the player card. In addition, knowing pitch movement and control would also be a welcome addition for me. I know all this is obtainable by going in to edit a player, but I feel all that info should be readily available in a more practical way.

How do you guys feel about this?

Personally, the only in-game info I find necessary are CPU pitchers' and hitters' vL and vR ratings for matchup purposes. Also CPU hitters' spray charts for defensive shift purposes. I honestly find most of the IE stuff to be game cheats more than anything. The last thing I want to know is what pitches the CPU tends to throw on which count. Or which pitches CPU hitters will chase and such. Again though, that's just me.

As far as knowing CPU pitch speeds, that becomes clear the first pitch he throws.

The first pitch doesn't tell you what speed the others are. How is it cheating to know type of pitches, speed, and movement?

You could have the bases loaded with two outs and this being a playoff or WS game, and the CPU brings in a RP, and you want to wait to find out what he throws? Just knowing types is extremely vague.

When I say cheating, I really mean the IE that's programmed to have CPU players perform poorly (or well) in certain situations. I just don't like game programming of that sort, whether it be called momentum programming, or confidence programming, or IE, what have you.

Nothing against having pitch speed info etc., just not something I personally care to use in-game.

I doubt MLB players know actual pitch speeds for all the pitchers they face. I would guess they would have a clear idea of each pitcher's pitch arsenal as well as their out pitch. Past that, I would question if they spend any time at all studying which pitcher has a 95 mph fastball versus 91 mph.

This has bugged me for a while. When you play My Player, it shows the pitch speeds for opposing pitchers, but not in other game modes. I think you can see them if you go to player card though, if you press Y on the screen that shows you what their pitch ratings are.

I don't think it really matters, every pitcher and situation(fatigue, fully warm, bases loaded etc) and from outing to outing can give different velocities. I know when I pitch some days I just can't get the pither to fill the pitch meter and some days I'm all over it. I'd like to hope the AI pitcher has the same issues.

Alright, so you guys feel it's not important to know who has high heat and who doesn't before the game, FBs, Sliders, curveballs, etc. OK, just thought I would ask.
