    Is this even worth getting??

I have 2k11 and wondering if this game is worth getting?
Seems like the reviews I read are all a mixed bag. Fun to play
but glitches like before. Is this even worth getting??
An honest review would be nice.
Is it full of glitches, broken commentary, floating bats and screwed up half butt
game like the last two years.

One of these days i'd like to see a game come out that wasn't full of glitches....man i miss the days when developers would test their games and make sure there were no glitches before they released them.

Is this game just another broken mess?? or is it any good at all??
Is it worth 60$ or 20$ in couple of months??

I'm still playing 2K11. 2K12 sounds like 2K11 v1.1. Can't see spending money on that, not until it comes down in price. But that's just my two cents, which BTW is all you're going to get when you ask the sort of question you did.

thanks for the reply that's what i'm looking for people's opinons that got the game.
was it a waste of money, impressions, bugs etc..... compared to last year which i have and hated. There needs to be a good baseball game for the 360. 2k's releases have sucked if i didn't have so many 360 games i'd get a ps3 just for the show.

Yup. It's really fun, and the aesthetics of it aren't nearly as bad to my mind as the game's critics make them sound.

The Total Control Pitching and Batting are very intuitive, the ball physics look good, the fielding mechanics are good, the commentary is fabulous, and with MK's sliders and rosters you're set for great gameplay balance.

What I really like is that the game is fun, but it's also a challenge. Somehow they managed to mix fun interfaces with smart AI. The pitchers make you work for your hits, and the batters make you think about EVERY pitch.

I played the other game a few years ago and liked it a lot, but I'm on 360, bought this and am happy I did.

Re: Is this even worth getting??

I love this game. Basically 2k12 is a bunch of small improvements over 2k11. That's seriously all it is, but that's not really a bad thing. Sure, the big back of the box additions are what get people hyped up, but what 2k did this year definitely was good.

They didn't focus on one major feature or addition, but instead, they improved every aspect of the game which is a bunch of little things that just add up and in my opinion, is greater than one major addition/feature.

The new hitting physics are great. Hitting is fun this year. You can't swing at every pitch with a great hitter and expect a .310/35/100 season. The changes they made this year to hitting really make it a game inside a game, just like real life.

You now have to be patient and wait for your pitch. I'll take strikes because I know they're not what I want. Earlier today I was hitting with Chipper Jones. Instead of swinging at the first strike I saw, I was patient. I identified a strike coming in, but I also saw off speed and away. That's not a pitch I want to try and hit. If it was a 2 strike count, I'd had tried to swing and foul it off hopefully, but I had some pitches to work with. So I took the pitch even though I was fully aware it was going to be a strike.

Well, the next pitch I get is a fastball, and I see it's mid zone level, and a bit inside, but still on the plate. So I took a swing, timed it perfectly and was able to pull it straight over the right field fence for the HR. Why? Because I was patient and waited on my pitch. I didn't bite at the pitcher's other strikes, I stood my ground and the pitcher made a mistake coming in on me.

And now this year, the pitching is great. I love it. Make a mistake this year and hang a breaking ball. No more dumb AI that swings and misses like a 4 year old in the batting cages. The AI will make you pay 9 times out of 10 if you leave a breaking ball just hanging up in the zone. You actually have to change speeds, locations, and approaches for every hitter, or they'll catch on and you'll end up paying for being predictable.

If you get lazy and start throwing 2 seamers over the plate and a little higher than normal, prepare for a hitter to drive the ball into a gap hard. Has the sinker gotten you success, so you've gone to it the last 4 times you've had a hitter with a 2 strike count? Better watch out, that 5th batter will be expecting it and will not be fooled.

2k also touched the fielding part of the game and it's nothing major, but definitely a lot better. The new meter is a great touch. It really makes planting your feet and having solid infielders a great advantage. With Uggla and Pastornicky up the middle, my defense is a bit weak, so I struggle to turn double plays with those two because neither have a strong arm and they do stop ground balls, but not as smooth as possible, so I lose important time when they take an extra half second getting full control of a hard hit ball.

Overall, 2k12 is just a bunch of small additions everywhere that it all adds up to one great improvement in my mind and is definitely a fun game I can't stop playing.

I agree with Canes. The new hitting/ball physics alone make it a different game than 2k11 …for me anyway.

I think it is worth getting if all you have is an xbox 360, even if you have a PS3, I think it could be worth getting.

The new pitching system makes quite a difference in the batter-pitcher battle. By new pitching system I mean how it forces you to not use pitches, sometimes even your best pitches, and thereby makes pitching more challenging.

I haven't run across any serious bugs, and I'm around 20 games into a franchise. I haven't experienced any freezes yet, and the game seems to be working very well.

I have both baseball games, The Show 12 and 2K12, and play both games, and I enjoy both games.

Before this years game I had never played a previous version of the series but MLB 2K 12 is actually a very fun game and I find to be very realistic as well it's got very a few minor glitches but as long as you don't have a PS3 I would get this game it's fun

I picked up the MLB 2k12/NBA 2k12 combo pack and it was worth it for me (2 games for $70)....great deal all around. However to get back to your question, I have MLB the Show 12 and love that game but I also play MLB 2K12 as a sort of change of pace, something different so to speak. MLB 2k12 does some really nice things with the presentation and commentary that I wish the show had. And if you can overlook some of the graphics and little quirks in gameplay, there is a really fun game of baseball to be had with MLB 2k12.

I would say yes it's worth getting.....even on PS3. I bought both games and haven't really touched the other game. I've been really immersed into my 2K franchise so far. The results of each game I've played on 2K have been unpredictable and totally fun.

How stable is it on the 360? Last MLB Game I bought (2K9) would freeze up on Franchies about a month in.

I've not had any freezes so far into my franchise of close to 30 games.

the 2k forums have not been bombarded with hate, which can be looked at as the game not being as bad. either that or no one has it! lol
I have my copy on the way from amazon, its worth it for me, going in blind.
There were a few nitpits last year, some bigger than others, but i love the franchise mode. I love the Inside Edge. I love the commentary and stats.
I love baseball, so i sold some games to pay off my copy.

go for it used from gamestop and give4 it a fair shake first.
