I really want to play a baseball game of some sort. I know the reviews are terrible and I havent heard much good about this game, but I kind of want to get it but I dont want to waste my money. Im not picky when it comes to video games, as long as I can have fun with the game I'll be willing to play it. From everyones experience, is it WORTH buying this year? Are you guys having fun with it? I dont know what to do, so I need some advice. Should I get it or not?

You like baseball? Own a 360? Then YES, you should buy it.
I always, always recommend renting a game first, but if you're impatient, then I would buy it.

I don't trust reviewers anymore. Either they know nothing about the sport (and they rely on popular opinion) or they have an axe to grind.

MLB2K12 is nowhere near as bad as a lot of the reviewers are making it out to be.
Because of the suspect graphics (especially compared to The Show), and some of the other little minor things, I would give it a 7.5/10.
The gameplay is solid, and there are a lot of really good things this game does extremely well:

- commentary
- presentation
- hit variety
- analog pitching
- defensive ratings for every position
- hitters eye
- outfield pop-fly circles (depends on defensive ratings)
- incredibly deep franchise mode and stats (it's like you're living in baseball-reference.com).
- MLB Today mode.
- very good My Player mode.

Honestly, in my opinion, if this game was as good looking as The Show, it's a 9/10 at the very least.

Buy it! i got the 2K sports combo pack and i love this game. There's so much to do. My Player, Franchise, Online game play, MLB today. This has been my favorite baseball game since 06 the show on PS2

Buy it...I have ps3 and the other game is collecting dust. The hit variety is the best I have seen in a baseball game by far...so many little things this game does right!

I have both baseball games for my PS3 and I love them both. Neither are perfect as 2K plays better online for me, but the other has incredible graphics.

I think you did the right move in renting it first. You won't be disappointed in having it and the stats and MLB Today really make the game fresh every day.

I bought it only for the perfect game challenge...but it's impressed me up to the point of keeping it.

I bought The Show for my Vita and my PS3 I have rented 2k12 for my xbox. I purchased both 2k11 and The Show 11 as well. I play this game for the online as I dont have to swing as soon as the pitch leaves the pitchers hand like I do in The Show. Im probably going to purchase 2k12 once its price drops to around $40.

This isnt true at all. Im on the fence about buying this game and Im not looking for someone to convince me and neither was the OP we just want more input from a community who knows what they are talking about when it comes to the game. $60 is a chunk of money to drop on a game you might not like so it never hurts to ask questions first.

Actually that's exactly what these "Should I buy it?" threads appear to be: posted by people who are looking for others to convince them. Otherwise you would simply read the online reviews and the dozens of pages of impressions, and make your decision, just like everyone else.
