    Inside Edge in Franchise Mode

Is there any way to turn on inside edge in franchise mode without having to buy it for each team? Seems kind of dumb that you just don't get to use it like a real team would. I can't afford it for a single opposing team due to my initial budget.

I've been saying that for years, lol. A pointless and unrealistic programming restriction they put in the game.

There isn't a way that I know of to just get all the Inside Edge. When I start my franchise I lower a bunch of the high player salaries (by Editing the player) to free up money so that I can afford Inside Edge for all the other teams.

I wish there was! But unfortunately there isnt...

I guess I like the idea of buying them, I just think they're too expensive. It costs $1 million in revenue to buy them for division rivals.. I dont understand why division rivals should cost more compared to other teams at all, and secondly I think the cost should be less in general.

So like if you wanted to buy 4 division rivals, and say 8 or so other teams. This would cost you almost $10 million in revenue! If you're a small market team like the Royals, or Indians... how in the world are you supposed to afford that? You'll be lucky to have $3 or $4 extra million with a team like that.

To try and keep it affordable I only buy division rivals, and higher rated teams in my league. I never buy NL teams if I'm an AL team(or vice-a-versa). Also I never buy teams rated low overall... since they're pretty easy to beat anyways. This means as an AL team I would buy 4 or so division rivals and maybe 6 more highly ranked AL teams. I never buy NL team reports unless I make it to the World Series.

I like the idea of paying for IE reports, I just think they shouldnt cost so much. It makes it almost impossible to use them effectively with small market teams.

What you could do is look at the Inside Edge information from the Main Menu (where it is all free) and remember it all or write it down or something. The mechanics should still work the same without actually buying them in the Franchise mode. That way you don't have to worry about how much it costs.

I just hate that I bought them all for my division rivals (as the Pirates, nonetheless) and can't even use them because I play with the strikezone indicator off. LAME.

I thought you could hit left or right on the D-Pad to view them. That's what I've done before, and I have my strikezone off as well.
