Re: How do I change a players position in franchise?
What you can do is go and edit the player you are calling up. And lower his 2B fielding attribute and raise his SS attribute.
He would technically be listed as a 2B, but he will be put into SS if the CPU manages it. -

This is one thing about 2K I never understood.
Neither here nor there, but it's situations like this why I never understood even assigning positions to anybody. The fielding ratings for each position could indicate a players "primary position" and then any other positions he played, and how effective he'd be, would be determined by those ratings(and perhaps going to an unfamiliar position could have negative effects on other fielding attributes) The game is going to do whatever it wants anyway. Still am baffled at Andrew McCutchen winning a Gold Glove at 2B on a joke franchise sim, Pirates put him at 2B for whatever reason apparently, and he won the award.Comment

This is true. A player's "position" is an essentially meaningless tag.
As the poster above you said, the CPU will put the player in the position they fit best regardless of what "position" a player is listed as.
And of course with Human controlled teams you can put a guy anywhere you want.
All that really matters is the guy's ratings.Comment
