How do you get roster changes to stick? (PC)
I've made numerous roster changes that 2K failed to make. Traded Marlon Byrd from ChC to Red Sox, put J Ellsbury on DL, signed Clete Thomas and Luke Hughes to Minn and Oak respectfully, and when I load the rosters and pick a game to play, the changes aren't there.
How do you get the changes to work in game? Thx.Tags: None -

Yes, both are on. I play the real MLB schedule, so if I turn those off, the pitching matchups change. I guess there is no work around for that.Comment

I had that issue in Franchise before realizing there was the manage lineups option in the Franchise settings.. seems to have solved the problem for me, except I have to change stuff every time a minor leaguer gets tired or hurt, otherwise the game changes my major league roster and batting orders if I let it edit minor league lineupsView Through My Lens sports photography

I haven't even started a franchise yet, because the rosters change so frequently. I just want my changes to stick when I play random teams. For some reason, they don't even after I save them.Comment

It's always best to keep things simple like that because otherwise you get mixed up and forget which roster save you edited, etc. That's no doubt what your problem is.Comment

Re: How do you get roster changes to stick? (PC)
Two things:
1) Be sure you rename you roster something other than "roster". With autosave and online enables, it will always re download the latest roster and overwrite anything titled "roster". You also MUST HAVE more than one roster. If you save a single roster, with a random title (even other than roster) it will overwrite the only roster file available.
Always have a 2K official roster saved and title it "Roster" as a dummy file that will always get overwritten by the latest 2K updates. Create a second roster and save it as any file name. So you should always have at least 2 rosters saved with one named "Roster".
2) MLB Today games DO NOT work with a custom roster. It will always download and load the latest 2K roster. You can only do "Play Now" games. You have to do this by going to Game Modes > Play Now. If you go to play now through MLB Today (where you can pick random teams) it will do what I mentioned above.Last edited by DetroitStyle; 05-01-2012, 11:39 AM.Comment

In my experience you always need two rosters. Otherwise the game will overwrite the only other roster file you have. If it doesn't do that for you, then don't worry about it. But the advice in my post still stands if you want to be absolutely sure your roster will work/not be deleted.Comment
