    Problem with franchise ratings

Ok so I simmed a few years into the future in a franchise to 2015 and i'm using MK's rosters.

The highest contact against RHP in baseball belongs to Eric Hosmer with 87, and highest contact against LHP goes to Starlin Castro with a 90. The power ratings seem to be fine, but there are not as many "elite" players as there should be.

Any ideas or thoughts on this?

    Re: Problem with franchise ratings

Heh, I play with a generic player roster and the highest-rated contact hitters in the league have contact ratings in the 70s. So your Castro and Hosmer would be like the Ty Cobb and Rogers Hornsby of my league, lol.

I can tell you one thing: the lower the hitting ratings -- especially contact -- the better and more realistic the User gameplay becomes. That's not a problem you have there, that's a solution you discovered!

What year of your franchises are you guys in? I know OP said "a few."

Im just finishing year 1 of my latest Chise.. and I went through 2 full years in another... so I guess I havent had much oppurtunity to see this stuff you guys are mentioning. In both of mine, guys like Gonzalez and Cabrera still have 96 and 98 contact. Obviosuly none of my rookies have had a change to progress up high yet.

So are you saying that generated rookies dont progress into the 90's in contact.. like.. ever?

To clarify, I'm using an edited roster I created using only generic players with zero lifetime stats. I lowered the overall ratings of every real MLB/AAA/AA player to 30 or less. All the generic players then became the highest rated players in the game. I haven't been checking player progress because I don't play franchise mode.
