I love IF/OF at zero and have had it at that setting for about 3 weeks, with excellent results. Try shading your OF and IF according to each batter's handedness (be sure to pitch to how you have your fielders set-i.e. if you play fielders to pull then pitch the batters inside), you'll be surprised at how well it helps to defend against hits.

Re: Possible workout pre-patch
I had two really amazing games with the posted sliders/adjustments.
First game was me playing with the Tigers vs. the Rangers. My SP was Porcello, he went 6 innings, giving up 3 runs (1 HR by Beltre) before he was tired and I had to pull him. Rangers SP was Feliz, I was not able to manage any runs. I had only 3 hits along with 1 walk going into the 8th, where he got tired and I started a big rally. A triple by Austin Jackson made it 3-3 and they pulled Feliz and brought in Uehara. He was struggling right on and I was able to make 3 more runs. 6-3 was the final result after Valverde completed the save for me in the ninth. Was a fine game. Accurate hit numbers, accurate extra base hits, accurate BBs, Ks, pitch count, etc.
After that I played another test game. This time with the Rays (me) vs. the Tigers. My SP was Shields, Tigers SP was Verlander. It was totally different from the first game. I started the game giving up 4 early runs, I nearly had to pull off Shields. He actually walked one run in in the first as he had loaded the bases with the first 3 hitters in the Tigers lineup and he threw 4 balls on Fielder. All in all the Tigers made 3 runs before Shields managed to get a double play that ended the inning. He needed 40 pitches. Verlander started strong, giving up no hit in the first inning. In the second inning Shields had recovered and pitched very well. He struck out two and managed to get groundout. Verlander started to struggle and gave up two walks. But I wasn't able to make a run. 3rd inning showed a strong Shields. But Verlanders struggle continued. After 2 outs and on a 2-2 count Matt Joyce made a 3 run HR to make it even 3-3. Two innings later both pitchers still were in and they had settled in, but their pitch count was way above 90 although they only had pitched 5 innings. To start the 6th Shields gave up two hits including a double that scored the first runner. But I was able to make it even once again as Luke Scott homered on Verlander again with a solo shot to left field over the little wall next to the left foul pole in Tampa's stadium. I brought in Wade Davis for James Shields in the 7th and he started well. Detroit brought in Below and he was fine, too. Going into the 8th I walked two batters with Davis after getting two fast outs. I had brought in Vogt as a pinch hitter for Molina replacing Molina as catcher. Sadly his bad defense killed the result for me. Davis pitched in the dirt, Vogt wasn't able to catch or block the ball. The two runners of Detroit tried to advance to third and second. Vogt tried to throw to 3B Sean Rodriguez, but his throw was wide and a Detroit player scored. I wasn't able to make another run.
This game was great, too. Up and down, an error that decided the game, etc. Verlander looked way worse than Feliz, lol. And I never thought that Shields would make it to the 6th after that first inning...
There are still some flaws which I hope are obliterated with the patch but those two games were easily by far the two best games I ever played. To clarify it, with the "flaws" I mean the situation where the SS waits and hesitates and doesn't throw to home plate although runners are moving. And also the CPU had warmed up Uehara in the 7th already but did not bring him for Feliz although his pitch count was red and he nearly had loaded the bases in the 8th. Perhaps I wouldn't have been able to win if they had brought in Uehara earlier.Last edited by wudl83; 05-18-2012, 02:54 PM.Comment
