Second baseman faking throwing it
I have a runner on 1st and I get a ground ball, I throw to 2nd to start double play, then I throw to first but the SS does not throw it! What should I do?Tags: None -

Re: Second baseman faking throwing it
I had 2 occurrences like this last night back to back and it nearly cost me the game in a 13 inning 1-1 tie game.
1. nobody on base & 1 out, routine ground ball to 2nd baseman. pre-load the throw to green/perfect throw, he fields it and goes to throw but nothing, I then load the throw again with a green throw and the 2nd baseman goes into the throw motion but pump fakes and then tosses it to the pitcher... runner steals 2nd and sets up play #2
2. next batter w/ runner on 2nd & 1 out, popped up to right center. I move Josh Hamilton directly ontop of the inner yellow circle and pre-load the throw to 3rd in case the runner tries to advance. Josh then starts adjusting his position for some reason and goes into his throw before he catches the ball... error, nellie cruz picks the ball up and I load the throw to home but he pump fakes. do it again and he finally goes home but the runner is safe.
never seen such insane crazy non-throws ever in my experience with the game.Comment

Re: Second baseman faking throwing it
Those are pretty bad lol. Most of white I've seen revolves around SLOWWWWW throwing motions. These guys need a little more pep in their step. In the time it takes to get the throw off the guy at 2nd is safe and even getting a single out is a bust.
I've had multiple occasions where I had the throw to second ready and in the green, but after waiting forever for them to throw I'll tap the button to throw to first and he'll gun it right over so I at least get the one.Comment

Re: Second baseman faking throwing it
I've mostly had this type of issue when the CPU bunts for a hit. No matter how close it is to my catcher, no matter how quick my catcher gets to the ball, and with a perfectly loaded throw to first, the game engine has my catcher side step three or four times as well as a soft throw to first..***nner is always safe by a mile by the time the animation is done. It annoys me.Comment

Re: Second baseman faking throwing it
Yea I love when the pitcher bunts himself on because the catcher is working on island time.
The worst thing happened the other day. With a man on third the computer did a squeeze play. It was an awful bunt that landed on the third baseline. My catcher has it with a couple seconds to spare as the runner is heading towards the plate. I'm standing in his path and he runs through me without being called out, then my catcher turns to tag him after half is body has slid across the plateLast edited by Neitmrh15; 06-01-2012, 10:22 AM.Comment
