Easy: Hunter Pence - I was hitting over .400 with him through early May before he tore a hammy and would bes missed for 8 wks. Everything I made contact with seemed to be a hit, and the only way I would usually get out was via a strikeout.
Easy: Cliff Lee - I am dominating with him to the point where almost every start is a no-hitter until maybe the 6th/7th inning. I have like 5 CGs in about 11 starts and have only walked 4 batters in over 60 innings pitched.
Hard: I am using only the Phillies, playing every game, and am 25-11, therefore I haven't really had a hard time w/ anyone.Originally posted by Edmund BurkeAll that is needed for the triumph of evil, is for good men to do nothing.Comment

Re: Easiest/Hardest to use players
I mentioned some guys I've been doing well with earlier in the thread, but I wrongly left of Randall Delgado, who has been very solid for me as the number five starter.
Well, his nice start to the season just got exponentially better as he no-hit the Nationals in a 4-0 win. With the likes of Hudson, Hanson and Beachy on the staff, I never would have guessed that Delgado would be the one to pull this off.Comment

Re: Easiest/Hardest to use players
I'm still only hitting .232 with a .288 obp with Freeman, but he's turned into an RBI machine for me. He only had 9 rbi in my first 22 games of the year, but he has 20 rbi in the last 10, and is now the NL leader.Comment

Re: Easiest/Hardest to use players
I still suck with Freeman, but now I got his average all the way up to .193 with a .223 obp and 15 rbi. He just got off of a month long cold streak though so things are looking up. Meanwhile Prado has risen his average to 219, .221 obp and 23rbi, but still remains cold as ice.
McCann is still on fire hitting .390 25hr, 51 rbi, and Uggla is right behind him with .351, 24hr, 49 rbi. I got one more game left before the draft. I'm thinking about not using the power swing anymore with McCann or Uggla.Last edited by shane79013; 06-02-2012, 04:44 PM.Comment

Re: Easiest/Hardest to use players
I use the Tigers and play every sixth game. That way, I go through the whole rotation every five games. Anyway, I absolutely can not do anything with Austin Jackson. At one point, I went through and figured out I went 0-for-47 with him during the games I played, which spans about 2 months of the season the way I play. I'm not sure what it is. Something between the timing and the small strike zone, I guess. I just have no discipline with him and pretty much everything is a ground ball to the middle infielders when I do happen to make contact. I got a little better with him in the playoffs, but even then, probably half of his hits in the playoffs were bunts with two strikes after the defense backed off.
I'm also not very good with Boesch. I'm very good with Peralta and Delmon Young, though.
Pitching wise, for some reason I seem to be unhittable with Phil Coke. I bring him in and rarely do I give up a hit in his one or two innings of work. It's weird because it doesn't even feel right pitching with him. His delivery is weird and he really gets his arm out there, like a Randy Johnson motion, so I never have a clear idea of where the ball is going, but I always have success with him.
I suck with Porcello though because you have no idea where his sinker is going. Same with Valverde's splitter.Comment

Avila and Peralta are scuffling hard for me, but as I alluded to earlier, Boesch and Dirks are picking up the slack.
Coke and Benoit are the opposite of unhittable for me, they both get hammered. Dotel, Pauley (original roster), and Schlereth are the unhittable ones in my pen.Check out my Houston Astros Dynasties:

Re: Easiest/Hardest to use players
A-Jack struggled mightily in my franchise early on...but he's gotten hot as of late, batting .600 with 3 HR in his last 20 games (versus .191 and 3 HR in his first 60)

Re: Easiest/Hardest to use players
I'm struggling really badly with Heyward. .210 avg, .280 obp, and only 2 hr. Chipper isn't much better. .280 avg, .316 obp, 3 hr.Comment

Re: Easiest/Hardest to use players
On my Rockies 'chise I'm raking with Dexter Fowler. He strikes out a bit (like in real life), but makes solid contact and can bunt for hits when needed. His speed is also welcome as part of a not-very-toolsy lineup.
I also really like pitching with De la Rosa. Even though none of his pitches are dominant, I can rack up the K's - seems like the 2-seamer is a bit overpowered. However, pretty much everyone out of my pen is useless. Ended up dealing away 2 prospects and Betancourt to the Nats for Storen (unrealistic, I know), because I needed someone (anyone!) who could throw a scoreless inning in relief...Comment

Re: Easiest/Hardest to use players
I still can't hit anything with Austin Jackson for 9 games out of 10. I'll go 1-for-20 with him and then have a 3-for-5 game and think I'm on track...then go in a 1-for-20 slump again. I can't seem to hit more than about .222 with him. Alex Avila is the same way, but on the opposite end of the spectrum. With him, I seem to go 1-for-4 every single game with him and always seem to hit in to a double play at least once a game.Comment

Re: Easiest/Hardest to use players
I thought I was the only one with Avila! He's hitting like .206 through about 90 games. I mean, at least Peralta is hitting like .250 and I think he's struggling...Avila is sucking so bad, and Laird isn't good enough to warrant the nod over Avila. As crazy as this may sound, I might have to look for a replacement at the deadline, he is just playing so awful.Check out my Houston Astros Dynasties:
