This franchise never could get it together. I gave it a try every single year but never liked it, I'm sure I'm not alone. -

And the inexorable death-spiral of a vibrant, innovative, competitive sports gaming landscape continues the path it started on in 2005....Comment

Re: MLB 2K Series is Likely Dead
While it wasn't a great game, it was at least something for 360 guys. It'd be cool for EA to bring back MVP, but it'd be really neat for someone like Konami to come out with something. I doubt EA will go for the exclusive, so this may introduce a couple competitors.Kansas City Royals | FC Barcelona | New Orleans Pelicans

Re: MLB 2K Series is Likely Dead
Hopefully EA gets in the game, MVP 05 is still my favorite baseball game.
It would be amazing if they just updated graphics/ teams and kept the core from that game in.
Maybe add a my player mode too.Cincinnati Reds University of Kentucky Cincinnati Bengals

Re: MLB 2K Series is Likely Dead
Who didn't see this coming.
2k baseball needed to die because quite frankly it was a bad game, but as was said earlier any time a sports game dies it's not a good thing for the consumers.
It's seems unlikely there's a 360 game next year, as I don't see any way EA or any other developer could get a quality baseball title to market in time.Comment

Re: MLB 2K Series is Likely Dead
It's been the series I've always WANTED to love, and there were aspects of the game that I did indeed love more than The Show. But it could never put all the pieces together well enough to be the game I wanted it to be. I'd love to see 2k try their hand at the football industry again when the chance comes about down the road. Alas, I think 2k is a 1 trick pony now with the NBA series, at least their pony is a good one.You do what you want in your association, don't let others ruin the fun. Just because other people say it's cheap doesn't mean you have to let it affect your association, just have fun - Evan_OSComment

I liked 2K playin with friends. Im not so sure though I want EA back in baseball... We complain so much about all EA quality that who knows. The PS2 nastolgia for NCAA and Madden is just as strong as MVP so why should I put my faith in EA for this generation. (by the way I still play and enjoy the football games for those who read my posts.) its going to be weird with potentially no baseball on the Xbox next yearComment

2K8 Football
2k10 Hockey
2k12 Baseball
Following this pattern, will NBA 2K14 be the last basketball game for 2K Sports?Comment

It makes sense for Sony to port it over to 360, being the end of the current gen consoles anyways. They would sell a ton of them next year.
MVP would be nice to see as would Microsoft's High Heat offering. I am a huge The Show fan though. It will be very hard to make a more compelling game of baseball. The opportunity in the market is the onlne baseball sector. Sony has dropped the ball there.Comment
