Closer works 10 innings for a loss.

Closers are suppose to be ninth inning specialists right?

    Not in MLB 2k12.

Decided to start a My Player Closer in honor of one of my favorite pitchers, Pedro Martinez, this happens in my second appearance for the Red Sox Double A team, Portland Sea Dogs, I entered a tied 3-3 game in the bottom of the 12th inning. Game ended in the bottom of the 23rd by the score of 3-4 on a walkoff inside the park homerun after my CF mistimed a dive in shallow outfield(sorry for low quality, pictures were taken with my phone.)

As you can see in the 'Batting Skill Points Earned' section, yes, I actually even went 2 for 4.(30 Contact, 25 Power, I'm a boss.) I guess I was contributing so much with the bat, the manager didn't wanna pinch hit for me either.

(Proof that I'm a closer, as indicated by the Save stat.)

Gee manager, I'll stop by tomorrow mornin' and say thank---oh wait, why is your office empty? Oh, you got your *** run off the team already, one more unemployed man in America, that's unfortunate.

This happened to me too! Kinda. Im a closer for the AA Trenton Thunder. I came in the 9th tied 3-3 and pitched into the 18th..we eventually won but common a closer pitching 7. I was about 50 pitches over my pitch count. 2K really has to fix logic...

Unfortunately they won't, confirmed there will be no MLB 2k13.

Which is sad, because despite many obvious flaws I really enjoy the pitching, and the almost Ken Griffey on SNES simplicity of the batting.

Laughed out loud when I read that.

Anyway, a perfect example of why I never play these various game modes, other than single seasons. These game devs never get these things right, in any game for that matter.

This happened to me, too. Although, I went 13 innings and got a WIN! Then I added a new pitch with all the skill points...

The CPU really erks me when it comes to pitcher fatigue in My Player Mode. I have a closer and just started. The CPU puts me into a tie game where we continue on to lose 4 or 5 innings later. My closer is completely drained as in that game he went over his maximum pitch count (and mound visits apparently don't exist). Very next game the CPU puts my closer into a game in the 6th inning with us winning by about 7. My max pitch count is 3. 30 pitches later I'm throwing wild pitches left and right (literally) and the CPU keeps me in. The next game I'm in AGAIN. I keep hoping for an injury, but it won't come. IT WON'T COME!!! *rocks back and forth in the corner crying*
