I just finished a game in franchise mode where I won 4-3 in 26 innings. The craziest part was that nobody scored a run until the 25th inning. Both teams pitched 24 shutout innings. I used all my bench players and all my relievers.
In the 25th inning I had to bring in R.A. Dickey on 2 days rest even though he is in my rotation. He gave up 3 runs in the 25th inning. Only 1 of them was earned. I gave up the 1 run and got annoyed, then with 2 outs and bases loaded I got the batter to pop up to shortstop, but the shortstop dropped it and 2 unearned runs scored.
Going into the bottom of the 25th I was really annoyed. I figured 1 run I could make up, but 3 was not going to happen. I figured I just tired out my whole team just to lose. But I got lucky. I got a few hits and soon I had 2 runs on the board. R.A. Dickey came to bat with the bases loaded and 1 out. He roped a line drive right down the left field line. The left fielder made a great diving catch to save the game. I accidentally pushed the button to send all the runners instead of just the lead runner. The runner on third tagged up but the others didn't. The left fielder threw the ball to second base and got the out for the double play, but the runner on third had already scored before the out. Inning over, 3-3. Tie game.
R.A. Dickey goes back out and pitches a scoreless 26th inning.
Bottom 26. Ike Davis hits a line drive to shallow center field. Bryce Harper dives but misses, and the ball rolls all the way to the wall for a triple. Then David Wright comes up and ropes a base hit to win the game.
MVP of the game was Ike Davis who was 6 for 11.
Goat of the game was Jordany Valdespin who was 0 for 11.
