Got this game today at Gamestop for 3 bucks and it ain't half bad for an older game. I like the pitching mechanic I am using now. You can move the catcher around with the right stick and I think I am using Breakpoint Pitching. You choose a pitch move the ball and have to double press the ball inside a circle for what could be called a best pitch. Did they drop these features in later games?

Just picked this up for 360 last night...paid a little under $3 for it! Loving it so far...had it for ps3 but framerate is so much better on 360. Key features I like :

*pregame announcing
*stat overlays
*announcing
*graphics
*franchise mode
*my skill difficulty
*franchise main hub...lost of info

I have 2k7 as well. I'm amazed how much better it is. It's bizarre. And people wonder why we think these developers are complete garbage. There isn't all that advertising all over the place either. Greed is not a good thing.
I remember when i got 2k7 there wasn't all this hoopla about it it was just a good game. Different times.. I think OS was different back then too.
The animations and everything are so much smoother. The camera all sync correctly and when you hit it in the gap it feels like baseball. The game is just smooth. It's the closest thing to the show there is imo. I actually think it's more fun than the show.
Just goes to show there are different ways of doing things. If this game had progressed like it should have we might have had a really good baseball game these days.
The kids these days developing these games don't give me any hope of a better future either. I Think that's what it is. It's a generational thing where people are just completely braindead and couldn't develop something good and creative if it hit them in the head these days. They are too concerned with a bunch of meaningless crap. They're all greedy little ****s.
most of the good developers made their money and don't care anymore either. bunch of sellouts.

I liked your post. I wanted to comment on what I quoted specifically though. If that game would've progressed like it should have from 2007, MLB 2K12 would have been such an amazing game. It boggles my mind imagining what MLB 2K7 would be like after 5 years of solid development by the same people.Comment

Thanks man. I don't think anyone has any real heart for this stuff anymore. I play 2k12 in comparison and the game just feels dead to me. It has no life. It's sort of like the show was doing this and adding these features so 2k just tried to play along. They added realtime stuff and animations in between but the entire game is halfassed. It's like they just threw it out there to see what suckers would buy it. It's not just 2k though. I think most games aren't what they used to be. EVeryone just goes with whats trending.
I really don't know how anyone with any passion for these games can allow this stuff to happen. It's pretty obvious to me how they could have improved and made fun games to play but eh. I'l fight the good fight I guess but it's like beating my own head against the wall and they know it.
Too much talk about this and that and not sure how many people really get it. The games that these companies release doesn't seem like they do.
Thing is 2k12 could actually be a good game. But it's just not very good. We can dream I guess. Thing is I shouldn't even have to be here saying these things. People should be doing their jobs. These companies are supposed to be the best at what they do, but they aren't. They say how they're the best. But yeah. Seems to me like the average fan could do better. I don't even think they are developers. They just market this stuff and don't even know what development is. i appreciate the honesty posted in this thread by celtics6. 2K7 was a great game. i don't think the same developers have been working on the game since then. for baseball games, i still play Pro Yakyuu Spirits 2010 on PS2. i just love the gameplay. but for MLB, you could do a lot worse then 2K7 on 360. it's a fantastic game that was tested thoroughly.Comment

This game saw so many hours in my Xbox. I used to destroy in that game. It's most fun if you juice out a pitcher because the break on the pitches are so over exaggerated it's too fun. I used to like using a screwball and eephus. I agree last good baseball game for 2k7, a little too glitchy, was in my 3rd season, saved the game because I had stuff to do, and then I come back and when i tried to load it froze up on me on the loading screen, smdh, so I moved on to the show..... but 2k7 is a great game, just make sure you have more than one save, lolGames I'm playing FOREVER: NFL2K5, That is all.Comment

2k7 was the last game I ever played an entire season with. I was the Nationals and they had their new stadium (it may have been 2k8 though?).
Anyways, one thing I specifically remember is having to save in-game routinely because of constant crashing. I would always wait until the 5th inning though, to make the game official.Comment
