Guys, this isn't a comparison thread. You guys know how this works. There is no need to bring up the Show in this thread.

If you feel like you can't hold your tongue and have to tell everyone how bad this game is and how great the Show is than take it to the "Baseball Other" forum.

Let those who are happy the game has been brought back from the dead be happy.

I am interested in seeing what the game looks and plays like. But for me I thought 11 was better than 12 aside from a new wrinkle they added. Since it is unlikely they had guys working on this game for the past year I don't see how you can expect this to be much of an improvement over the last game that they released. I hope I am wrong but there are very few positive surprises in sports video game land.

MLB did not want to sit out the yr on Xbox 360, went w incumbent party while larger options sorted out
hmmmm Larger options sorted out... sooo i take it that EA or someone of that size is already working on a game for 14 and the new consoles.... hmmm... interesting...

I might buy this game just to thank them for keeping the series alive! Meanwhile, I might as well go for the $1 million too haha.

If you make the sliders difficult enough - to play like simulation baseball - you indeed CAN make each at-bat really tough. I've had 14 pitch at-bats, fouling off pitches, taking pitches - awaiting my spot. This is a FUN game...

First screen shot and alleged feature list over @ Pasta Padre

The surprise announcement that the MLB 2K series would return for another year – and the new license agreed upon with MLB is just for one year – came down this morning. Though the cover athlete news was announced along with it (David Price) no details on what to expect from the game feature wise were made immediately available.

Now though there is a early features list for the game that won’t quell any pessimism around how much work is going to be put into the product. It primarily contains features being carried over rather than anything new with the exception of a Playoff mode (which is also new this year in The Show). Given the constrained development cycle that may not be a surprise but it will make it even more difficult for consumers to justify the full $60 price tag.

Oh... they still have the black tarp on the Green Monster lights.

Yeah, just a roster update with playoff mode.

smells like how 2K treated Wii owners to baseball games. Fresh coat of paint (roster update) and charge full price... if true not worth the 60$ IMO

And some people like a lighter game like that. But 2K12 requires more thought and a plan for each at-bat.

Fenway might be alittle empty this year.

                            I'll take that bet.

Very little if anything will be added, whatever they can come up with in few months

MLB did not want the largest console (in its final year) to be without a baseball game and they signed a one year pack with 2k very late. Rumor is that the pack in non exclusive, MLB wanted a stop gap measure this season and plan to have a long term deal with someone in-place for the XBOX 720. I would say the agreement just happened or 2k would have announced sooner like they normally do.

Assuming it took a month or two work out the details on the pack that would gave 2k a max of 4 months to work on new features, with no time for beta testing but I'm not sure 2k ever does beta testing, every game is very flawed until the 1st patch

Don't get me wrong if the glitch from 2k12 are fixed, the Astros are in the AL, and the roster is updated I'll be happy

But I want a PC version, in years past they were very last announcing if a PC version would be released. One year it was like 2 weeks before the release date

Like others, I bought a PS3 on black friday for the sole purpose of having a game on the ps3. After playing the show for countless hours, i dont regret the decision. However I'm not biased towards one game or another, its still good news to hear this is being released. With all the speculation going on right now, i know a 60 dollar price tag is a definite no as a first day buy right now, but i will definitely buy this for a cheaper price and proof that the freezing problems are gone. Sometimes I just want to play a game where I can hit balls in the dirt and fast forward to any at bat i want.

They could, in theory, have been developing the game before finalizing the deal with MLB.
