Is 2k12 on the 360 really that awful?

I've been playing it on my pc and while it looks good, but the time I hook up to a real tv my rig cannot really handle it. I have 2k11 on my 360, but I was wondering if 2k12 on the 360 is as bad as people make it out to be?

Does it still have the mlb today freeze going on?

Well it obviously doesn't look as good as it does on a nice PC but gameplay wise it's the same.

360 does have some slight framerate issues on some foul balls but they don't affect game play whatsoever so it doesn't bother me but i'm not to fussy.

As far as the freeze issue if you have living rosters ON then there is no freeze issue, it just takes a minute or so to load everything up. If you have living rosters turned off and are getting froze out, so to speak, then you will have to set the clock back on your 360 and fire the game up NOT connected to the internet so you can turn them off. Remember to save your settings after doing this so they will be ON next time you try to play.

I wouldn't say it looks bad it's just not that much of an upgrade from 11 except for the wrinkle they added for pitching.

Hitting timing is completely different, pitching is harder, your pitch grades will change based on strikeouts, walks, and hits, the fielding throw meter is no longer automatic -- errors happen -- online pause glitch is gone from 2k12 (after one of the patches). Hits are more varied......

Yes, it's vastly different to those that pay attention. Better/Worse is in the eye of the beholder........a few months ago I'd have told you that I prefer 2k11, now I prefer 2k12 easily. And I haven't had any freezing problems.

That's a good point. I always missed 2K8's Payoff Pitch mechanic. Your pitches would grade higher or lower based on hitting your spot on important pitches. It created games where guys could get hot or cold based on your performance. What they did in 2K12 was even better, and contributed to the realistic nature of pitching. some days, pitches just don't work, and the lower scores affects what you choose to throw and where.

And you are also dead on in regards to the throwing meter. I'd call 2K12 the best defensive game of baseball. Ratings matter in a big way. They tweaked and made the drop circles in the OF also represent a players ability to track balls better. You get penalized for trying to throw before you are ready, but with practice you can turn some wicked DP's.

No throwing on the run in 2k12. In fact I believe the show has more or less stolen their fielding throw meter for 2013.

Guys, I have 2k12 on my pc. I was just curious how it was on the 360. With all this talk about pitching with it's rewards and not have me scaling back the graphical requirements I am making on the pc and going to see if I can make it work consistently.

                Thank you all.

I have it on both PC and 360. I've only played the 360 version a few times for online games and for my MLB Today games....

But after modding the PC version so much, I haven't touched it. It's not as bad as everyone makes it seem. But gameplay wise the PC version is just smoother, less choppy and the graphics don't suck a testicle sack, like they do on 360.

There is just this feel that isn't there for 360, and I'm not sure what it is....But it's not just 100% it's still 65% of what the PC version is....

The 2k11 graphics on the 360 suck beyond belief. If 2k12's graphics are similar I will find it impossible to play.

Even cranking down my graphics settings it still blows the 360 out of the water. It kind of makes sense too. The resolution would probably have to be like 6000 x 2000 or something like that to look the same on a 42" screen as it does on a 14" screen at 1200 x 700 or whatever.

If graphics are important to you and you aren't going with the computer version of 2K you have to give Sony's game a look.

I was so bad at that game I had zero fun. That and I no longer own a PS3.

Not telling you to go out and spend a couple of hundo on an old system but I felt the same way you do. I hated The Show until I forced myself to play it the past month. Been playing 10-12 and the games rock. UFB.

The answer to your question is no. There are a lot of haters who should stay out of this forum and stay in the Show forum. Not sure how the mods keep letting them post negative trolling comments.

Maybe I'll give it a whirl.
