Analog Pitching: Gives a realistic difficulty to throwing certain pitches
Payoff Pitch Feature: A "leveling-up" addition to pitching to where you can make even the worse pitch become your best by just hitting your spots with it
Player Search In Franchise: Like the ability to skip through the process of going through every team looking for a certain player and just type in their nam,age,or overall and get the player I'm looking for immediately
Create A Player:I liked their selection of categories and until MLB 12 they were the game offering more player accessories as well as a somewhat custom batting stance
Signature Stances:I do believe they had more realistic signature stances,swings and even HR trots then The Show

Wrong
Commentary: With the exceptions of Thorne & Kruk I NEVER liked their commentators
Presentation:Same Music and style for WAAYY too long
Graphics:Some stadiums looked like crap along with faces and even the fans
Animations:The worst baseball animations for swings and fielding I've ever seen in a game
My Player Mode:It fell hard compared to The Shows RTTS

I'll never know why they never tried to compete with Sony and actually attempt to make a quality baseball game especially for those who didn't own a PS3 and only had 2K as an option.
The only time I thought they were actually trying to make a competition with The Show is when the Analog Pitching & Batting came in,but was let down with the results.

I'm still a little shocked with their announcement for a 2013 installment as I believe everyone thought the 2K series was dead,but if the license is being shopped around like I heard it is then this WILL be the final 2K game

Rambo I don't think they ever tried to compete with The Show when it comes to My Player/Road to the Show. In My Player you can make it to the big leagues pretty fast and be a "star" whereas you have to work for it in RTTS. I don't want to compare the games though b/c that isn't allowed in this forum and will bring up arguments, but that is how I see it.

I love how the cpu employs a different defense against certain(many) hitters and not just simply straight up against everyone. Other games still haven't got that figured out.

Right: Commentary and atmosphere, analog pitching, batter's eye which allows you to work walks and adds true feel to real batters ability to see pitches through ratings, fielding with outfielders and true defensive ratings by position, fun feel to game.

Wrong: Animations are rough, bugs, far too big a gap between contact and power swing, hitting ball physics (I don't like emphasis on pushing outside pitches or the feel of the bat off the ball - doesn't feel right IMO).

Note: these are impressions based off 2K10, 11 retail and 2K12 demo.

i agree with this just fix the hitting and have updated graphics the game will be better then decent then.

I realize this is probably the wrong thread, but could use some help. I'm not good with the sliders, but this game is driving me crazy! Love baseball but need some help before playing any more. I play Francise on Xbox 360 on the 3rd level, which I think is All-star. The CPU fielders are way too fast! Get robbed of hits up the middle all the time, as well as over 3rd base. The ground balls I hit never find the holes, but get snagged by CPU SS who does unblievable flip throws (while going towrards 3rd base) back to 2nd and to 1st for double plays! Any sliders someone can recommend that will slow the CPU down and make their fielding more realistic? Plus, the CPU pitcher covers 1st base from the mound faster than a track star! Also, when I hit the ball (looks to be right on), I rarely drive it for a double or HR. Maybe some of it is because I play a terrible team (Hou) on the game. No sure if I should be hitting w/contact or with power swing. Thank you.

Also, what are some recommended slider settings for someone struggling w/hitting and using a bad hitting team like the Astros?

The game downloads the newest 2k rosters. But the new community rosters is being handled by several key and dedicated members. I added an edit to the anticipation attribute each player has, it isn't a gameplay slider, but an individual player attribute.

You need to look for mkharsh/bretsky rosters under new roster downloads on 2k share, they have the anticipation edits already done.

You'll need to go to:

Features - 2K Share - Downloads - Rosters - Newest - (find the one from Mkharsh).

Download and save the the roster.

Then go to:

Load - load that new roster, and you're done.

The game should automatically auto save your Profile so that roster will automatically load every time. At the worst, you'll just have to go to load every time and load em up.

Amazing difference! I loaded the new roster with 25 anticipation & it's a whole new game! I actually hit a ground ball single between the 1st and 2nd baseman (never got through before), hit a flair over the SS side over 2nd (and it dropped for a hit!), and hit 2 ropes that actually rolled to the wall! Also hit a HR. Lost 5-4, but can't wait to play a game now that is actually realistic! Thanks guys...
