    Thinking of canceling my pre-order

    Hi all,

After reading the very limited info on 2k13, I am thinking of canceling my pre-order.

I have a PS3, and have regularly purchased both games, but 2k only on PC. I tried one year having both on PS3, and it was pretty difficult switching back and forth, timing-wise mostly.

This year, since a PC version is not available, I pre-ordered 2k13. Now I am having second thoughts. Why?

    1. Money. $60 dollars is a lot for a roster update and league realignment.

    2. I am having a difficult time rewarding a company, with my money, that obviously doesn't give a crap about their customers. There is hardly any info on this game beyond, a cut and paste from last year and that during the 2012 season, 2k basically quit midway through. No support with the mlb today feature that stopped working after the all-star break.

    3. I hate to admit this, but reading these forums also have an influence with this decision. There is a lot of negativiy that makes me wonder why would I consider buying a product that was thrown together at the last minute. I don't believe the opinion that 2k was secretly working on this before the announcement. I totally understand the xbox owner reasons to purchase 2k13, but for a PS3 owner such as myself, its like buying two cars...a Ford Mustang GT and a Toyota Prius. Both good cars, but I would rather drive the Mustang. I'll leave it up to you to figure out which game is the Mustang.

There are good things with 2k (the game) that I enjoy. Pitching and commentary and it is fun to play.

    I dont know....

You have a PS3. You already have MLB 2K12? I don't see where the problem is. Grab the updated roster for 12 here and do what you have to do.

Just wait some more then decide. We should get some info next week. I read on #mlb2k13 that 2k had the game setup yesterday at the Rays fan fest.

For me, what is keeing me from picking up 2k12 again is the glitch where you have a runner rounding third going home and the cutoff man would sometimes hold to the ball instead of trowing home for a close play at the plate. Mayby the new attributes rosters helped this. Otherwise game is allright.

Yeah, I've seen many inside the park homeruns that were a result of the SS receiving the throw when the runner was between 2nd & 3rd then just standing there while the runner kept going to home.

I'm not 100% sure, but I think the anticipation attribute change took care of this issue. This is the only complaint I had with the game. I made the anticipation change and played a game, and the only three times the situation came up, the cutoff man through the ball right away!! It had never happened before on the pc version. Of course, only more games will tell!

With the anticipation attribute changed the cutoff definitely makes the correct decision. It changed the entire game!

What exactly would be the point of pre-ordering this? Are there any gameplay or DLC bonuses included? I can't imagine there would be. There aren't any game modes that are even capable of being enhanced like that. And it's not like it's going to be sold out. This is the ultimate wait-and-see type of purchase.

I'll most likely buy this day one, but there is zero reason to let some game store hold my money until the game is released. I will occasionally preordrer games if they are a fairly sure day one buy AND there is a bonus worth having.

Tiger Woods is a good example. Tomb Raider is debatable. MLB 2K13 offers nothing for preorder.

                  So true....You are 100% correct.

I canceled the preorder. I'll wait until release date and the reviews comes in, but like I said earlier, its probably just a roster update with a team realignment.

I cannot see the benefit of pre ordering it once you guys pointed this out.
Plus, I had a hard time justifying the $60 price tag.

In a couple of weeks, it will probably be cheaper if I then decide to buy it.

                  Thanks for the input!
