2k3 - Just hit for the cycle !

After months of trying I finally did it. And in the World Series. Tori Hunter hit a triple and homer in his last 2 ABs. And the homer only just cleared the left field wall at the Jake - awesome.

He even got a walk as well...

Commentators said nothing about it !

Kaz Ishi got 15 K's in the same game.

The only thing I'm really pushing for now is a no hitter. Problem is I have the CPU BA slider at 48 to keep the games cometitive and I cant no hit them. Whats the highest CPU BA slider at which people have thrown a nono. I threw a complete game 2 hit shutout with Kerry Wood when the slider was on about 45.

Are you POSITIVE they said nothing about it? I could've sworn that when I did it there was SOME sort of notice.

    Hmm...

Nope, I've done it at least 10 times and they never said a word any of the times. Same thing for when I threw my no-hitter. Kinda dissappointing.

                They definitely said nothing.

In previous games where the hitter has been one hit away the commentator has noticied it as they walk up to the plate. I suspect had I done it on one of these occasions then they would have pointed it out. In this case they didnt point out that Tori was just a homer away from the cycle so I was unsuprised when they never celebrated.

My girlfired wasnt very excited about it either....

I think celebration of these type of achievements, plus creating a special atmosphere in the playoffs / world series is a major development area for these games.

Okay, well maybe that's what I remember hearing.

Anyways, I've thrown a perfect game by cheating before, and what I remember is at the end of the game, Ted Robinson was yelling stuff like "PUT THIS ONE IN THE RECORD BOOKS, WE HAVE YET AGAIN SEEN HISTORY IN THE MAKING... A PERFECT GAME!!!" or something.

Someone let me know if he also says that to you so I'm positive that I wasn't asleep then.

Thats more or less what he says for a Perfect Game, its very anti-climactic. Its so hard to do, you'd think he would show a little more emotion. I'd like a nice "A chopper to second, Walker flips to to first and Pedro Martinez has pitched a perfect game!" Something to that effect would be nice, and the team should celebrate, instead they just shake hands like they normally do.

And anyone else find it stupid that if you win the World Series with a walk-off homer (or any type of walk-off run scoring situation) the players don't celebrate? They only celebrate if you win the thing with the pitcher on the mound, and by the time you win it all you're sick of that animation because they show it everytime they win a game in the World Series.
