WSB2K3 and ESPN BASEALL Poll added

I was thinking about this. With the baseball games all about 2 months from being released and ESPN NOT showing us they really did anything different with the game accept adding jon miller and joe morgan as announcers and adding the K Zone crap, Franchise and I believe they added online play this year too. Oh yeah they added "momentum", I believe that aspect of the game is gonna make the game very arcadish and unrealistic experience. Why even buy this game . Why dont we all just play WSB2K3 again this year. To me the graphics i've seen posted looks the same as last years game and i'll bet the gameplay is the same as well except for the foolish momentum added. Lets just face it they haven't posted much about the game this much cause they didn't change much. At least games like MVP 2004 and even MLB this year shows more potential then ESPN. They stepped up to the plate and showed they did something new and innovative. I guess time will tell but for my buck i think i'll be looking into MVP this year that game is packed with alot of improvements from last year and has alot of new stuff added to the game this year as well. The hitting and Pitching is gonna be great. The physics and graphics are great as well. Thats just my opinion. Feel free to discuss this matter amounst yourself while i get some coffee.... I gonna add a poll to this post to see what people feel about this matter.

Re: WSB2K3 and ESPN BASEALL Poll added

First of all, you said accept instead of except. Second of all, it's John Miller and Rex Hudler with Karl Ravech as in-studio analyzer. Thirdly, you were kind of missing a poll option in there. Yes, I do believe that this game will be practically the same with a butt-load of new animations and gameplay options, and many different features and game modes, AND I'm looking forward to it. Besides, there are different ways of calling momentum what it is. How is momentum arcadey? If momentum is like how NHL 2003 and stuff uses it, then in a way, I understand what you mean. If it's momentum in running, then that would be VERY realistic. If it's pressure-sensitive throwing, then it's not arcadey, but I hope that it's implemented properly, like the harder the throw, the better chance of an overthrow or something. Also, I hope there's an option to turn it off if I don't like it.

The screenshots that you saw were first impression shots. It's not their latest update on the game or anything, they didn't release the shots right after they updated their graphics or whatever. You can tell because Santiago and Aurilia are still on the Giants. Trust me, even a little player graphical update is really good... if you didn't like last year's graphics, you have a problem. The only thing they could (and have) work/ed on is stadium and field graphics and textures, and the coloring. It's definitely improved.

Do you know why they are letting up in showing us anything so much? Because just like their other games, they began to give us updates weekly (ESPN Football had Football Friday, ESPN Basketball had Tip-Off Tuesday, ESPN Hockey had TopShelf Tuesday, and ESPN College Hoops had Fastbreak Friday). I'm sure that sometime this week (Mon-Fri), we will have our first batch of those weekly thingies (maybe a Major League Monday, or a Triple Tuesday, or Weenie-Dog Wednesday, or Throwdown Thursday, or Fastball Friday). And by then, we would have had about 7 weekly updates or so, at least 7. If it realeases late March, then we could have about 9 or 10 of these.

These updates are fairly big, and they focus on a main part. You know, one will probably focus on franchise, one on the presentation stuff off-field (menus, music, modes available, create a player and stuff), and then maybe a part 2 the next week with on-field (new layouts, K-Zone, Jon Miller and Rex Hudler commentary, replays, cutscenes), then maybe they will show off new animations (one week will be all offense, then the next all defense), and you know... they just keep doing it, and they will give us a couple of screenshots and movie clips to go with it.

I guess all that I'm trying to say is, the only, and the ONLY reason why I say that this is anything like WSB 2K3 is because they're using the same engine. But I feel that anyone should be just as excited for this game with or without information, because we can expect a lot. One big thing we'll also probably notice is how they added player scaling this year (along with better faces... not sure about batting stances yet).

Just make sure that you keep an eye out for this game, because it's not holding back, and as Rex Hudler says in WSB 2K3... "BU-LIEVE IT!"

Re: WSB2K3 and ESPN BASEALL Poll added

Like I've said before, this year my options are open. Last year, after seeing some WSB 2K3 screenshots, I had no idea which to pick. Right now I am for MVP or MLB, only because ESPN hadn't released enough yet. When ESPN releases more stuff, I'm gonna have to start deciding. I mean I can already tell that MVP is WAY too good to overlook. I'm probably gonna end up with two baseball games this year. Some sort of combo with MVP, ESPN, and MLB.

And besides, why am I proven to be a WSB fanboy or whatever? I have already clarified tons of times that I am not in love with any game... if a game is better than another that year (in my opinion), then that's the game that I will go with.

You must understand that over half of the time that I am on the internet I am researching games. Yes, me, a 15 year old, spends his time on OS and researching video games. I know most everything that every game has (from what is released). MVP has just released some new screenshots, and they are truly amazing... and I take that into account, unlike Maddenites (Madden fanboys), they see something that's not Madden and rant on it. I hate that.

We should have a poll as to see if I am a fanboy.
