Nice to hear that the fun factor is still present. One thing that 2K12 had going for it. But I'm going to stick with 2K12 this year. Even though I own both consoles, I'm on a PC/Steam kick last two years, and the changes aren't enough to warrant a purchase for me. But nice to hear nonetheless.Comment

Overall though I'm somewhat impressed with the game. It doesn't do anything spectacular but I haven't played the game in a bit and it plays a rock solid game of baseball. The Show may have better graphics and cutscenes and attention to detail in the stands as far as vendors but other than that both games are nearly identical as far as what's going on on the field. 2k has better pitching, inside edge.
The difference are minimal but what I can tell 2k13 is the definative game in the series. It's just missing that extra something as far as graphics and it's not really an upgrade from 2k12. It's just a nice version of it.
Is it worth $60? I don't think so.... I'm still kind of upset with 2k charging that amount for this little of an upgrade.Last edited by celtics6; 03-06-2013, 11:21 PM.Comment

This game a complete embaressment. Definition of roster update. I feel that this game could have easily been a patch instead of full on retail release. Same menus, graphics, franchise mode, ect. Thank god this is the last year these guys are going to be making these games. Hopefully somebody else can come in and create a more respectful baseball game. The 2k development team is obviously worn out.Comment

Is anyone else finding that the outfielders are not getting a good jump on balls hit to the outfield?I am the lesson after the fall.Comment

OF Speed (and IF) is set to 20, so I bumped it to 30, and this improved. One thing I noticed form 2K12 was that the more speed you allocate to the fielders, the longer the CPU controls them. So I adjust speed to find the balance of not too much control, and not too little.
I also think each of us will find a different setting that works for us.Comment

For those that had any concerns about online stability, I can report that the game ran great for me. I played one against a buddy earlier and we didn't have any lag issues or any other problems whatsoever.
I also played the computer tonight and lost a 13 inning game 1-0. This was my first game on the All Star settings. My Yankees ended up with 6 hits total to the Rockies 8. I figure I'm gonna run a few more games on that difficulty and see what type of variation I get in scoring.Comment

I play on All-Star and noticed this. It's actually not their jump, it is how long the game funs them before you take over. If you are pressing the wrong way, or not at all, the OF stops or pauses.

Re: Operation Sports MLB 2K13 Community Impressions Thread
Am I the only person feeling the momentum when fielding? I dont know if it was the same last year but fielders seem to have a rubberband/reaction/ball tracking effect that makes it really fun to field.
These are the little things 2k does so well as far as fun gameplay.
This game is a really good game of baseball regardless of whether it's the same game or not. I can't put my finger on what it is but it plays really good.Last edited by celtics6; 03-07-2013, 09:40 AM.Comment

I'm starting to think there was definately work done under the hood this year. Something about the graphics are really popping for me and the game feels very immersive especially on the big screen. Maybe I'm seeing things but I don't know. the game plays really good. The more I play the more I'm really liking this year's version and thinking I'm going to buy it.
Playing the cubs in wrigley. Could barely see the ball coming out of the sunlight into the shade. The lighting was crazy realistic and everything looks really sharp.Last edited by celtics6; 03-07-2013, 10:29 AM.Comment

Playing at Wrigley in 2k12 was impossible during certain innings. Great to hear that the lighting was fixed.Comment

Re: Operation Sports MLB 2K13 Community Impressions Thread
Is this a fair assessment or am I seeing things? I've tried to compare 2k12 to this game endlessly and I don't know if I'm seeing things or not.
The commentary is updated. The rosters are updated. There are some small touches underneath the hood. The ball seems to bounce more. Fielders are tuned differently. The ball comes off the bat differently. Color and contrast has b een adjusted ever so slightly and the game is slightly sharper. Faces have been touched up ever so slightly. It's difficult to see but it's there. There are other minor touches as well. certain stadiums, players have been touched up ever so slightly as well as certain features, camera angles etc..
2k basically had 3 months and what we see is about a quarter development of what we usually see.
It's 2k12.25
Is anyone else seeing what I am? These changes are so minor it's hard to see to the naked eye. But I think I'm seeing it.
It could be a carbon copy of 2k12 but I don't know. EVerything seems to be ever so slightly better. the physics graphics etc. It's so slight it's ridiculous though but does make a difference.Last edited by celtics6; 03-07-2013, 12:39 PM.Comment
