How does it compare to 2K10?

I see a lot of posts stating MLB 2k13 is the same as 2k12 with extremely minor changes.

I haven't bought a version of the series since 2k10 (Evan Longoria) and still play that one from time to time. Is it still essentially the same game from three years ago or is it worth the $60 to upgrade?

Obviously rosters would be updates, uniforms updated, etc. But besides that, are the game modes any more fun or is it same old, same old?

I too had 2k10 last without having the others, except for playing demos. I do see some similarities in hitting and somewhat in pitching. Fielding is different and I love the fielding animations. Commentary sometimes I hear things that I did in 2k10. Overall commentary is solid. The ball is much more lively graphics are much better colors are defiantly brighter (more pop) to them. Overall it is a big enough jump between the two I am very satisfied with my purchase. It has some of the things that 2k10 had that I liked but it doesn't have the problems that I didn't like. This game is much more refined. I bought this with NBA 2k13 combo pack (I haven't had an NBA game yet this generation) and I am very pleased overall with my purchase.

I also have not bought a MLB2K game since 2K10, and am interested in how much the three (okay, two) year jump would be. But I don't think this game is worth $60 on general principle - how can they get off charging that much for a game they did almost nothing to?

If it was a $20 discount game it would be an easier pill to swallow. But a $60 full price? Ridiculous and disrespectful to gamers.

It plays much better than 2K10. But im pretty sure the game is gonna drop to like $40 in about a month. I'd wait first.
It’s easier to do the right thing, than to explain why you didn’t.
