Re: When is the MLB2k13 review coming out?
2k has paid off the top review sites from what it looks like, at this point I assume they won't be releasing any reviews -
Re: When is the MLB2k13 review coming out?
You mean from like IGN and other sites like that? The reviews are already out. Just take the 2K12 reviews and subtract 2 points from the review and you got your 13 review. My Wii U ID is Mikeatris and Mathematik.

PS4:Monochromatik

Here is one from Kotaku's Owen Good. He has done a lot of sports reviews and been a pretty big fan of 2K over the years. In fact, his work with the stadium specific broadcast pitcher cameras was instrumental in changes 2K made to the series.

As much as I hate reviewing a business plan, rather than a video game, that is all you are buying if you choose to pay for a new copy of MLB 2K13. You will be helping to reward 2K Sports with the first ever profitable year it will see from this license after nearly a decade spent mismanaging it, and you are telling the Major Leagues that not only can they slap their logo on any piece of crap and everyone will still buy it, but also that their poor stewardship of a multimillion-dollar license doesn't matter either.Last edited by lnin0; 03-10-2013, 02:01 PM.Comment

I love 2k sports. I really do but from the review I just read it almost reminds me of this review, or lack there of from my old school N64 days.

But it looks like he just took the shortcut and decided to have a bitchfest instead of actually evaluating the game. It plays plays better than he admits, and the game is more improved that he acknowledges. If someone does not own 2K12, 2K13 is absolutely worth the entry fee.
And he was right, he shouldn't be reviewing their business plan. the game has to stand on its own. Whining about how the game got released serves no real purpose. His entire rant that buying this game rewards 2K for blah, blah, blah was a bunch of hogwash. The gaming market exists as it is, and making the case that not buying this game would somehow improve it is a really pathetic argument.
I like Owen, and I appreciate the work he has done getting Sportaku rolling. But that review was really beneath him. He ought to be embarrassed.
But hey, this is going to be a fun game for reviewers to kick around. From the impressions of people that bought the game, most seemed to be happy with their purchase. And that's all that really matters.
If you buy sports games based on web site reviews, you wil not be served well. Most are poorly written, but the even more importantly, the nature of sports games leads to really polarizing views of what makes a good game. It's not just 2K baseball, but al sports and racing games fall prey to this. the only way you can get a realistic view of a game is to follow specific people, whether they are reviewers are posters in forums that you have learned to trust because they have similar views as you, and wait for their impressions.Comment

I get where he's coming from, but that review was not helpful to his readers at all. I have no problem with him making the case that the extremely short development time led to a game that is not worth $60.

Re: When is the MLB2k13 review coming out?
I could see him being ill that it is a carbon copy of 2k12. I skipped 2k12, got 2k13, and don't feel slighted in the least. Very good game IMO.EXPERIENCE MAYHEM FOOTBALLComment
