haha, excellent FP. It's gonna be one hell of a central division race this year. I have a feeling Hendry is gonna whip up something in the next week or so to counter Clemens. Like I said, I'm thinking Maddux, but Pudge is a far option.

Anyway, the Cubs will be winning the central when I play with them anyhow so I'd say just let it be.

I-Rod wouldn't make the team any better. The Cubs need someone like Blanco or Ausmus to handle their young pitching staff, and I-Rod isn't known to work well with pitchers. If Cruz can get it together, Maddux wouldn't make the team that much better either.

Pudge seemed to work pretty well with Florida's young staff, but I agree, he's not the best caller in the game. On the other hand, he'd provide a hell of a lot of offense where the Cubs haven't seen out of the catcher's spot in years. Although I get the feeling he and Sammy wouldn't mix well, I don't know why.

I heard Cruz is tearin it up in winter league. However, Maddux would provide stability (I doubt Cruz would be able to last a full reg and postseason), experience, and wisdom. Maddux could improve the rest of the Cubs' young staff for years to come whereas Cruz would only make it younger and more inexperienced.

Just my opinion, I'm no expert but I follow the Cubs pretty damn closely.

FatPitcher, just wondering... do you take note of the Wishlist thread? Just wondering... because there are some very key things in there that could be useful this year or next year.
