You must remember that this movie is from a version as old as those first screenshots that were released... which is what would be an "E3" version... only not in E3.

Why don't you wait till you see something other than a 20 second clip before you make that decision.

Thoughts like this are becoming a bad trend, imo. I guess we are so spoiled nowadays with the graphical quality and what not of games that people now bitch when a game looks like the previous year's incarnation.

There is no way that we are going to see sports games have a new graphics engine every year. It is just too unrealistic to expect. Just because this year's game looks the same graphically does not mean it is the same game.

I admit, I said the same thing when I saw the first clip of the game in action, but that was a knee jerk reaction. Because ASB and MLB are undergoing more of a "revolution" this year than an evolution, it got a lot of people, including me, thinking every game should look a lot better than it's predecessor.

The more I think about it, it doesn't mean much. WSB's graphics were for the most part in much better shape than those other games'. As long as they cleaned up some stuff, like some of the faces, added player scaling for different sizes and made the field more proportional, I don't think there is anything really wrong with the look of the game, other than it being too bright, but that isn't a game killer.

Sports games have always, for the most part, been the most guilty of making minor changes from year to year and slapping it in a new box. In this day and age, I guess some people feel short changed if they don't get a totally different looking game for their 50 bucks than the one they bought the year before.

Bottom line for me is I don't care how different it LOOKS as long as it plays a lot better.

The overall feel of the game seems to have changed for the better, in my opinion. The game, from what I've seen, seems to run smoother and a little more realistic. I don't like that players can still almost scale the ivy in Wrigley Field, however...

I think some people expect a completely new engine in every baseball game every year. That only happens once every five years or so. If that.

Mostly it's about modifying the same engine... which just means tweaks and additions of various size & scope. Odds are that if you're really disappointed in a baseball game, the follow-up isn't going to blow you away.

But you never know. I didn't really like ASB03 at all, and ASB04 was amazing. That's pretty rare, though.
