    collision detection on homeruns??

is there collision detection on homeruns this year in espn baseball?
i know it didnt have it last year, but what about this year?
also, is the minor league system going to be more than just an extra player pool?
will the minor league rosters actually accumulate season stats, as your maor league season is going forward?
    thanks

    Re: collision detection on homeruns??

We're hoping for the best on collision detection, but the newest trailer (although as old as a November version of this game) did not appear to have it. We can still always hope for the best on this however.

And also, there was the slightest collision detection in World Series Baseball 2K3. At Bank One Ballpark, the ball could bounce off of the scoreboard in center field. In Edison International Field, I am pretty sure that you could hit it off of the rocks garden (at least the front acted like a wall). In Qualcomm, the wall behind the regulated fence had collision detection.

    I think that's all though.

What exactly do you guys mean when you say collision detection?

I didnt play WS2k3, but am interested in getting into a baseball game for this season......browsing this forum I keep hearing collision detection, but aren't quite sure what it means.

          Thanks, Royce

I assume they mean players cannot run through each other. For instance in WSB2k3 if two players go for the ball they will stand so close that one players shoulder with go through the others chest. In order to fix this they will have to follow the principal that two objects cannot occupy the same space.

On homeruns, last year the ball would just dissapear. If there is collision detection, and the ball hits the scoreboard, or a wall past the fence, it would bounce just like in real life.
