This is hard because for the last 2 years, Sega's Baseball game has by far been my favorite game. When it first came out on X-Box 2 years ago, it was a fresh new game and the franchise mode was the best I'd seen on a console. Last year, the game was great with all the awards and I had a blast taking a small market team to the WS. Now that EA has really jumped to another level with the franchise mode and minor league teams, I felt Sega could add some more depth to the franchise mode and focus on improving the gameplay a bit....Sega, as Sportsman TO mentioned, should have stuck to making games for the niche crowd and not the casual gamer....

Dude...Pared, check your wishlist from last year. Over half of that stuff has been done, closer to 3/4. I'd say that's pretty good.

I know... I can't make any statements based on the gameplay... I have to play the game first!

I'm just basing all this on graphics now.... it just seems like your engine has hit a ceiling and there are limitations.

There's just some things that it seems like ESPN is missing now... strength of throws and being able to choose what/when... controlling slides... better vertical leaps away from the wall...

I'm really looking forward to the confidence thing... but I'm just not crazy about the player models. I never was actually, but I thought it was only b/c there was no player scaling.

I just have really high hopes for ESPN, and it doesn't seem like it wasn't achieved this year. But again, I haven't played the game...

I think we are a little off base bashing espn and heres why. Espn baseball is going to surprise many people with the quality and refinement of it's gameplay this year. Last year it was the best and they have dramatically improved the gameplay and the resolution of the graphics from last year. They did not fix the swing yet, but I think they will nail everything else this year that really matters. The glitz and wow of MVP is not going to be there yet, but the pure gameplay will beat the snot out of it - mark my words!

Plus, I'm a PS2 owner, so to see the game that I am looking forward to most just go straight to Xbox would make me sell my PS2 and buy and Xbox, and I DON'T want to do that... I can't live without this controller, my old PSX games, and SOCOM II.

HOWEVER, I just want to see exactly what the game would look like if they went Xbox only, but I don't want them to.

You think a football game can't outsell Madden? NFL Fever sold 560,000 copies the first year on Xbox Madden sold 380,000 copies that year. WHY? Because people bought Xbox to play Xbox games not PS2 ports. EA will ALWAYS port the PS2 version they will never make 2 different versions. This is where u give it to EA by supporting Xbox 100% it pays.

You can't live without your controller? IMO the Xbox controller is better but for people like you who make excuses YOU CAN USE YOUR PS2 CONTROLLER ON XBOX. Socom 2 is a GOOD game it's not a GREAT game. Xbox is coming out with over 100 online games there will be a Socom 2 killer.

What in the hell does Socom II have to do with baseball? This is an ESPN baseball forum. I suggest everyone remember that before going over the same tired charade of which game/console/cake mix is better
