What is Action Cam?

Hi all,

I've been away from baseball sims for quite awhile. I'm interested in both ESPN, and All Star. I have last years versions of those two. I like them both for different reasons. But this year I only want to buy one. My wife and I enjoy playing on the same team together or switching batting, and fielding duties. I was interested in ASB because of the fielder cam.

But my wife prefers the graphics and smooother gameplay of WSB. Now I hear ESPN has an Action Cam, and a First Person View?.... I loved first person in ESPN NFL. I really got used to it fast. Can someone give me the rundown on Action, and First Person features. Whats the difference?

I dont understand what it is, I watched the vids and I still cant get it! Also, why cant you see limbs and other things in FPB mode?

Well, I guess we found out today. Action cam appears to be a poorly executed version of ASB's 'fielder cam'. FPB appears to be an utter waste of time and energy and like football it seems to be all or nothing for the duration of the game.

I am rather disappointed by Sega baseball additions this year. I'm sure a handfull of people will enjoy those additions but they should have learned from Football that those features will never sell games.

Thanx for the answers. Yeah I know FPB will not be a primary feature. But I did play a good bit of football with it and got pretty good at it. Who knows if I get ESPN I might try it...and like it. We shall see.

I just checked out the new videos on the espn mlb site. It looked pretty cool to me. I think I'll like those modes. I got addicted to the football ones pretty quick once I really gave it a chance.

I think that Action Cam looks very nice. It's not the same as All Star Baseball's though. First, the CPU hits the ball, and they show the flight of the ball. Then, about two seconds later, it seems to do a slowdown to change the camera angle to where the ball is supposed to land, and then you're supposed to get it or something. I hope that you can rotate the camera around with the right-analog stick also (ala ASB), that would be pretty cool.
