Do any High Heat fans like this game ?

Anyone old High Heat guys had a chance to make a valid comparison ?

Can this be the game for those that desire a realistic simulation ?

I would say yes. This is the best baseball game I have played since High Heat.

Will it replace High Heat... not totally. What I did like is the first at Bat I had in the first game I played CHan Ho Park walked me using Johnny Damon. His first 3 pithces were out of the zone. The next pitch he blew near the middle. Then the next pitch a slider got away from him and I got my free pass. I then tried to steal and got nailed (thankfuly the fixed the stealing issue).

I personally like the batting interface with True AIM. Also switching the swing buttom from 2 button to Classic is cool since it's totally random if it'll be for power or contact. I had one that sqeeked over the fence in fenway with Varitek, then had a no doubter with Ortiz.

Pitching... yeah you've got an effort meter, but the pitch doesnt always go right where you spot it which is nice since not eveyone has great control. Now I was pretty accurate with Pedro, but I bought in Mendoza for kicks... Ehh... he threw quite a few more off target giving up a couple big hits and a homer.

Speed Boost... I thought I was going to have a problem with it, but actually I don't know that I've used it. It's for a short amount of time and it's just like in real life with a guy putting in some extra omph after a blooper. I used it 3x running a ball down, only once actually catching it off a diving catch. The other 2x I got in front of it so it didn't cost me extra bases. When using the boost to field, you threw the ball harder but more off target. I threw one with Nomar and bought Ortize completely off the bag and allowed some guy a base hit.

(sorry if I forget the names of the dogers players, I don't watch minor leauge baseball much... I'm only kidding.)

It plays a lot like last years version, but it feels a bit different. I might be one of the few that's excited about the batting.

That batting swing animation, I oculd care less about. High Heat was never a graphics power house.

I bought MVP, ASB, MLB, and now ESPN this year. So far this year my tastes have been MLB and ESPN (from what Iv'e played of it). MVP and ASB have some great things about them, but I feel more into the the games that Ive played on MLB and ESPN.

What specifis do you want to know? I can probably help you out more that way.

The biggest similarity is that you can draw walks.

I think people will like the hitting once they get used to it, I slowed the pitch speed down to medium and then I could see how if I was accurate with the analog stick and timing it really improved the velocity of the contact I was making, don't be too proud if it is going to ruin you enjoyment of the game move the pitch speed down.
