Anyone like both MVP and ESPN?

I was just wondering because I usually like to play two different baseball games and I'm an MVP fan (as I duck behind a table to avoid the thrown tomatoes...). Is it possible to enjoy both titles?

I do like them both, I sold ASB but can get myself to sell MVP yet.

          Absolutely!

I have a highly modified version of MVP for the PC. With the exception of the ball physics issue, this game plays perfect......for me. I can understand the frustrations with the console versions though. On the PC it is truly a different game.

So far I'm ok with ESPN. I played 2 games last night and saw a few disappointing things, but, the game is NOWHERE near as bad as these "reviews" it's gotten.

Re: Anyone like both MVP and ESPN?

I have all three baseball games (MVP, ASB, and ESPN)

I love MVP because of their pitching interface, the swing animations are nearly perfect, pretty solid franchise, and the grahics are decent. Gameplay wise, I see something new every single day. Bobbling the ball in the infield, not being able to transfer the ball to your throwing hand, nice catches in the ourtfield, etc. But I had to try out the other games because of the progression problem. The lefty thing I can deal with cause I can always edit their ratings or play with sliders, besides, I haven't had a problem. But the progression hurts the franchise.

ASB is the game I have played the least. Extremely deep franchise mode but the roster editing bothers me. The players are too small, they only allow you to make changes in a franchise, and there is no potential rating. What happened? It was there last year. The graphics are decent and the gameplay is ok. Baserunning is Very difficult.

ESPN I just got last night. The ESPN look and the play-by-play is awesome. I like Jon Miller and I think he does a great job in this game. I played WSB2k3 the most last year. I never noticed the swing animations until I tried out HH and ASB. When I went back to WSB2k3, I had to turn it off and immediately trade it in. For me personally, I need swing animations to be fairly realistic. Besides that, the gameplay is solid and the franchise mode is great. I had a lot of fun playing my Mets franchise last year. I haven't played much of it yet but the confidence meter sounds pretty cool. It's just a shame that they didn't do anything to fix the horrible swings.

Bottom line though, if I was going to trade-in or sell any of the games, I would give up ASB. ESPN has the intangibles that would hook me in if MVP's problems can't be fixed through modded rosters. But right now, MVP is my favorite because of the solid gameplay and realistic swing animations.

This is actually part of my problem this year. There's at least one thing that I really like about all four major action baseball titles (ESPN, ASB, MLB, and MVP), but none of them could be considered good enough to forget the rest. Of course, I have MVP for the PC, so that mitigates the progression issue; consolers may want to steer clear of it.
