Re: For those who have the game...
The variance in every game. Each game is so different, could be a high scoring slugfest or a 1-0 nail biter. The fielding camera view is not the best...but it doesn't take away from the gameplay and realism. -

Re: For those who have the game...
What has surprised me the most is how fun it is to pitch. Sometimes, even when trying to throw stirkes(but not pipe it down the middle), I can't and will end up walkign the guy. Same thing with the CPU pitching. SOmetimes I ge walked on 4 straight pitches.
Biggest disappointement are the cameras! Fielding camera is OK but could have been a TON better. Replays on HRs are crap(too much time on the hitter/catcher).
All in all though, it plays the best game of baseball of all of them this year.
OHH! The stats that it has during a franchise are GREAT! plus it has Hall of Fame numbers, records per game/season, etc. All breakable this year(last year there was a glith in stolen bases and some others).
While far from perfect, for me, it plays the best.
Hope this info helps you somewhat...Comment

Re: For those who have the game...
I think I'm definately going to be getting ESPN MLB. I was wondering are the total pitches thrown more realistic this year? I remember last year it was so easy for me to get outs and have a very low ERA and easy to throw below 60 pitches in a single game. Has any of this been improved??Comment

With all the pitching aids off, yes. I haven't played with them on, but I would assume you'd have pretty good control that way. Right now with them off and with the Pitching Variability slider at 60, I'm walking about 2-3 guys/game and throwing a good amount of pitches. I even threw 120 with Colon in one outing.
With the pitching variability slider turned up, it causes some of your pitches to not go where you want them to. Say you hold outside on the analog stick and throw a fastball. Sometimes it will hit the corner, sometimes will fly too far outside and sometimes will go right over the plate. A lot of it depends on stamina as well.Comment

Re: For those who have the game...
I just have one more question about ESPN. Is it possible to play your games in GM Mode? Or do you have to sim them all?Comment
